A Night at the Night Safari

On National day, while most people will either stay at home to catch the parade on TV or out somewhere to catch the fireworks display, I was at……. as obvious as it can be, the Night Safari!! =)

Cool…. Awesome! hahaha… A very impromptu decison coz it was decided that very afternoon.. Think it was some promotional stint by STB, all I had to do was to sms something to a designated number.. and I got this sms which admits 4 for free! How cool was that? Of coz… It was only for the first 2009 visitors who showed the sms upon entry =P

And fortunately, we made it just in time to be the first 2009! It was pretty expected coz I guessed most will stay at home to catch the parade on TV.. As we were early, we managed to get the tix soon after… Heard there were some who didnt managed to get it due to overwhelming response later that evening.. haha… See see.. better to be early!

We entered the premises early, and had a good dinner at Bongo Burger located near the entrance (public area).. =) The serve pretty nice pasta!

It was still bright when we had our dinner…

As usual, Mr Koh held his camera high everywhere he went…

We officially proceeded into the Night Safari after we filled our stomachs….. *excited* It was my first time to the Night Safari……..

The tram waiting area was packed with people…. and the skies slowly grew darker… Uh oh…. haha…

We took more pictures before the skies grew any darker.. haha.. It was a challenge taking nice pictures in the dark lo.. And for your information, no flashes are allowed in the park~

It felt vv different walking in the night.. haha! If you have night blindness, it is likely that you wont be seeing anything.. haha.. Not trying to say that it’s pitch dark inside, but seriously, the lights were only bright enough to light the walkway… haha.. The animals have excellent camouflaging skills too.. so it’s pretty challenging to spot them too…

My dearest C905 had to surrender.. haha.. It had a long rest inside the Night Safari =P

If you have supersonic eyes.. You’ll see a vv cute golden flying squirrel… haha! Don’t bother.. It’s quite impossible.. =P

Yeah yeah! I’ve finally visited the Night Safari….

We went for the night show later that night.. It was the only night show in Night Safari… Unlike the zoo, where there are shows for various animals types.. (sea, land…), there was only one at the Night Safari..

Basically the highlights of the show were all the nocturnal animals.. haha.. Very cool weather, very lively host and a bunch of entertained audience… great show!

That’s how I spent my National Day this year.. No fireworks and all, but a great evening at the Night Safari with a bunch of great pals =)

Going to the Zoo

Been an eventful month.. So many activities and events.. and of course, very caught up with work too!

Too much to do, maybe that’s what they say.. “to maximise and realise your fullest potential”

Anyways, I’ve been in touch with the animals more often than ever nowadays.. haha! Specifically this month…

I went to the ZOO! haha… The last time I’ve been to the zoo was quite some time ago… maybe 4/5 yrs? This time round, I got in free coz of the corporate pass issued by my company… haha.. who hates free stuff ya?

It was a sunny day at the ZOO =) The participants: Mr Koh, Weiting, Huixian and yours truly!

There are far too many animals at the Zoo… haha.. I will post some of the cuter and funnier animals here =)

First up, it’s the Ah Meng (junior).. haha… He/she looks lazy right? spoilt… too much good food and attention.. haha.. no good!

  

Mr Rhino loves his shit.. Yes, your eyes are not lying.. What you are seeing is the real thing.. Its Da Bian! hahaha…

Anyway, I miss my long hair…… It’s much shorter now… but it’s ok~ =P

Then we went to the kids area where the water playground is located to visit the lil ponies and horses… =) Though they don’t smell very nice, they are still very adorable.. haha!

 

Oh ya, we spotted dinosaurs at the zoo too! They are fiercer than those from Jurassic Park…. BEWARE~

Soon……. it was time to go home… *Awww*

It was a lovely day at the zoo…………

Meet-up with PPG

Met PPG on a friday night~

It’s been quite some time since PPG has met up for a nice dinner together.. Every meet up reminds me of the good old days in school…. =)

We had a nice dinner at a Jap restaurant at Liang Court! and we adjourned to TCC at boat quay for some chilling session.. haha! As usual, when 3 girls meet, the amount of noise pollution created is definitely significant..

We do observe some stares here and there.. either coz of our awful and disturbing laughter, or our funny forced accent while trying to imitate someone or some groups of people from some nationalities during our casual conversations.. We are not trying to be mean or critical, but we are just trying to make our conversations more varied and interesting… =P

This was what I ordered… Super pretty dessert with a high class and sexy name.. “Strawberry Romantasia”…Price is just as glamourous =P

Orientation Programme

Been a very long time since I’ve last attended an orientation.. haha.. My last orientation was during my JC days at this cozy lil school at Ang Mo Kio… hahaha… I had fond memories.. all the funny games, mass dance, get-to-know people and friends sessions..

It was a pretty interesting sight (I mean back then).. It was more of people watching (right PPG? How can we forget the ‘F4’ back then.. AB, ABF, Double F and Triple F… hahha… only PPG can decode this =P) and having fun after the dreadful O levels..

So this time round, I had my orientation AGAIN! haha.. Different setting, different set of people I see.. of all ages~ It was an interesting change.. It was a 3 day programme.. with the first 2 days being lectures, and the 3rd day at Sentosa.. The 3rd day was some team building and semi outdoor adventure camp.. haha…

It was definitely an AWESOME break away from work! =) Now I’m missing it… I dun mind having orientation for a month…. haha..

The first 2 days were pretty boring.. How interesting can lectures be? =P The 3rd day was fun! Not much pictures though, coz I was away from my camera phone for most of the time…

It was fun fun fun.. I got to know quite a few nice people from the camp, but most of them are not from HQ… meaning I won’t get to meet them so frequently in future.. haha! but it was fun interacting and getting to know people from other departments =)

Time to get back to work soon… *sullen* Time flies when you are having fun.. isnt it?   

Upper Seletar Reservoir…

After some prata at Jalan Kayu… Daddy brought us to the place where he and mummy used to go Pak tor.. hahahaha!

Very romantic indeed~ Daddy was saying, during those days, when they were still young working adults and couldnt afford to have their own transport.. They had to take a bus to seletar area… haha.. FYI, they used to live at ard Chinatown area.. WAH! Imagine how long the bus journey will take.. They come all the way to take pictures.. with daddy’s antique camera and a tripod… vv romantic ya.. hahahhaa…

Anyway, back to our outing…. now~

We climbed up the iconic tower situated just beside the reservoir.. haha.. The never-ending spiral stairway made me pant and giddy when I reached the top… I know I’m weak.. signs of aging!

Then we ‘rolled’ down and loitered around the grass patch below the tower.. haha… It was beautiful..

Grass was green… flowers were red… Reservoir was clear and the sky was blue.. It was a nice break away from the hustle and bustle of city life..

Ah Qi was busy snapping away with her beloved Holga… while Daddy was thinking of those days… haha!
