Resorts World Sentosa

Visited our Sunny little southern island some weeks back... coz we heard so much abt RWS, and after visiting MBS, we had to see for ourselves, how does RWS fare against MBS.. haha..

What first greeted us when we alighted the monorial, were hordes of people, tourists, families, foreign workers, etc.. you name it, they have it.. everyone was there! maybe coz it was the long weekend, everyone took this opportunity to go 'overseas'.. haha

The facade of the attraction was predominantly brownish orange and had a weird tint of turquoise.. haha.. I had no idea why the developers chose this colour.. but it definitely didnt appeal to me.. If I were their designer, I would have painted the whole area with rainbow colours.. it's a family attraction afterall! set your mind free and wild =P

People were anywhere, everywhere.......

We walked around the vicinity and entered one of the hotels' lobby... and I was very amused to see the rounded figures in the background.. haha! let me molest the butt.. =P

We went off touring the hotels like tourists.. and everything seemed so new.. it really felt like we were tourists.. haha..
Even the comfy couch at the lobby looked so attractive.. like a giant biscuit.. *jumps*

haha.. Towkay Koh acting like one.. as though as he owned the shop behind.. =P

One of the main attraction at RWS... btw, there was an orange Lambo at the entrance.. I so want to hop onto it and drive it away.. haha.... crash into anything/anyone that blocks my way.. HAHA.. zoom zoom!

enough of dreaming...... we continued our tour around the area.. we were at the basement level actually, where the casino is located.. not at the ground level...

We had performers to entertain us throughout the day too =) Which I felt was very thoughtful of the management... Everyone's gaze were glued onto the performer...... I was quite worried for her though, coz she had no safety bands/ropes on her..

View from the ground level~

We couldnt sustain our excitement anymore and we trotted off to the happiest area at RWS (ok, maybe for the kids, to the gamblers, casino might be the happiest place for them).. haha........

Universal Studios! Woooo........... I feel like I'm overseas....... haha......

Sadly, this was the nearest I could get to the theme park =P Please wait for me.... I will come back for you.... haha!

Such a happy place right? It's like I'm in fairy tale land.. The last time I've been to such a themed amusement park (of such a scale) was at Tokyo Disney land.. and before that was at Movie world Australia.... I miss those places~ Can you see the popcorn truck? HOW CUTE.................. hahaha..

and there's Shrek too! =) can't find Princess Fiona though.. haha..

Next, we went to my favourite 'attraction' - HERSHEY'S SHOP, where they sell all sorts of things imaginable related to the famous chocolate.. =) It's a chocolate wonderland for me... haha..

Me with the world's largest chocolate bar! and it's edible....... 100%

Me with the Hershey's bear... so huggable! =)

Stealing a kiss from Hershey's kisses...

and a shot with the giant Hershey's choc syrup....... I want to bring it home.. haha!

I had so much fun in the shop! so much so that I don't want to leave....... Let me sleep with Hershey's... pls! haha...

After all the fooling around, we headed for dinner at this chinese restaurant called 'Ru Yi'... apparently it's part of Tung Luk Group (I think), coz the restaurant has a photograph of Sam Leong teaching some trainee chefs... haha... it's like a chinese fast food restaurant to me =)

I had my fried rice...

while he had his zha jiang mian~

Nice!

After our filling dinner.......... we walked around RWS again.. and soon, night started to fall... and RWS still looks nice with all the night lights.. There was even entertainment at night too.......

We watched 2 macho men perform some stunts with fire.. *hot hot* (pun intended) hahaha!

Soon, it was time to head home....... but before we left,

How can I not take a shot with Mr Hershey's! So lovely~ hahahha...

I was a happy girl that day........ I want to go back~ to Universal Studios!!!

Re-visit Haw Par Villa~

Mr Koh and I visited Haw Par Villa on Vesak day =) As it had been ages since he last stepped foot in the colourful villa, we decided to make a trip down to the south-western coast of Singapore.. and spent our Vesak Day afternoon there..

My last time there was not too long ago, and had gone there with my family during our Sunday brunches =)

Welcome~ I see that the park has been well maintained as I spotted a fresh coat of paint at the entrace - rocks area. I remembered they looked a little dull the last time I came.. haha..

Mr Koh with Zhu Da-ge.. hahaha...

Beautiful and colourful pavilion amidst the murky pond.. I was quite worried that the stagnant water all around will breed the little mossies, as I got a trillion sandfly bites the week before at Changi beach.. They were so itchy and left such ugly marks on my feet.. boohoo!

Fighting the heat, humidity and occassional mossie bites.. haha.. we walked around the park to admire the sculptures and statues, and all the colourful stories the park had to offer..

This is Tang Sang Zang resisting the temptations of the evil spirits...

This is the legendary Hua Guo Shan.. haha.. Looking at these sculptures and figures, I can only imagine how much effort had gone into making all these possible.. all by hand~

How can we forget the Monkey God! haha..

Posing with the figures~ =) Every section has a story board which basically explains the Chinese folklore stories and values the founders wishes to convey to all visitors..

We went to another part of the park which houses some of the newly painted sculptures.. I say this coz I remembered not too long ago when I last came, the colours of these figures weren't as fresh and vivid.. In fact, it looks so much better now.. As though the figures came alive and have a life of their own.. haha...

I cannot say this enough.. I applaud the skills and devotion of the painters/sculptors.. Painting and scuplting a decent looking figure is not easy, let alone such an excellent work.. I'm amazed by how every expression and emotion can be so clearly brought out by their talented hands.. haha..

This is cute! haha.. But I've got no idea who he/it is.. No idea if this is a good/bad guy too.. =P

However, this sculpture gives me the creeps... Perhaps coz it's too skillfully painted and sculpted, and somehow I could feel the sadness in this figure....... and it haunts me.. I'd better not look at it for too long.. in case I get nightmares *shivers* But it's a nice sculpture I must say...

Mr Koh took a picture with the naked mermaids before we scramble out of the park as we heard some thunders and the skies were slowly turning dark... =P haha.. look how blissful he looked...

while I had my private moment with Mr/Miss? Crab.......... I'm craving for some pincers.. haha.. GONG! *yummy*

We trotted off to Kent Ridge Park after that.. and had a nice stroll to the Hort Park - which was linked =)

One of the birds we spotted at the park

Hahaha.. fooling ard~ with the flowers and scenic backdrop...

What an enriching and healthy vesak day! =)

Rose Veranda at Shangri-la

Had a department gathering at Shangri-la's Rose Veranda some time last week =) It's a place which I'll never go (maybe not never, but hardly), coz it's simply a place for tai tais to chat away the afternoon at an exorbitant price, while savouring the food, desserts and 100+ varieties of tea... herbal, fruit fusions, black tea, etc.. you name it, they have it.. and for tea lovers like me.. this is the perfect place to be... HAHA!

Everything nice and white......... even the cups and plates are so intricately decorated with pink little flowers... They won me....... for that afternoon =)

The chandeliers, the sofa armchairs.. the ambience... nice!

Lazing on the sofa, feeling all blissful~ Behind me is the swimming pool..............

We gobbled down the delicious food and had no time to take pictures of the wide selection of food...... =P
Look at the selection of desserts... Sinfully delicious! ladies will definitely love it =)

With some of my colleagues~

The afternoon was spent there... with us playing a good and hilarious game of taboo... and realised that this game is actually good for bonding and it's simple fun! =) I can play the game for hours and not get tired.. haha.. perhaps I should go get a box and play it with my friends.....

Well ladies, if you've strike it rich and feel like splurging (I really mean splurging, and don't feel the pinch after spending near 50 bucks for a high tea session), do come down to Rose Veranda and sip some tea.. they have 100+ types for you to savour.. and I must say I did enjoy trying out the teas =)

Long live tai tai lifestyle...........

超人不会飞

After a torturing long wait... I finally laid my hands on my 超人's new Album! *jumps around the room* Had pre-ordered this album coz I wanted to get the pre-order promotional item.. so happily went to collect the album on the stipulated date on the voucher..

*Thunder and flashes of lightning*

I was utterly disppointed and heart broken... Like a little girl's dream being shattered into pieces.. Not being able to go to the concert was bad, and news that the album release date was delayed was like another stab into my fragile heart... =P Sullen, I went back feeling empty... but but...

I finally went to collect my 超人 few days later.. braving the long and humid walk from office to the CD shop at chinatown~ YAY!

Presenting to you.... the limited edition badges bearing the album picture of each of his past albums.. This is his 10th! =) *claps* proud of him.. haha..

Every one of his albums brought me through my schooling and growing up days.. every tune and song resonates with the memories and feelings at every stage of my life.. sweet, happy, sad, angry, cool, etc~

Happily unwrapping my prized possession.........

Presenting to you, Jay's 10th album: 超人不会飞

guess what............
I've just dropped the lucky draw form - to win the tickets to his concert, into the post box and I hope Mr postman will deliver my golden ticket to the right hands and to the lucky box..

May the lucky hand pick the lucky ME!!

please~ =)

Jean's baby Full Month

A very warm welcome to Baby Ethan~ Jean and Gabriel's precious little one =)

Have known Jean since my Yokogawa days (5/6 yrs ago).. and have met Gabriel since then.. haha.. but of course their love story started way way earlier.. when they were 16? haha.. Jean, Gabriel and others from the gawa clan had gone overseas together to places like BKK, Genting, Kukup, countless OTs, supper and KTV sessions... That was when all of us were younger, and free-er... haha.. Now that all are busy with their own lives, busy earning money, meet-ups and gatherings became lesser.. but nevertheless, seeing them again brings back lots of happy memories.. haha... and everything seemed like yesterday and Im glad we still keep in touch every now and then...

Jean and Gabriel decided to tie the knot 2 years ago... I've attended their wedding and now I've attended Baby Ethan's full month party... Suddenly, I feel so happy for them =) setting up their own little family, step by step...

Baby Ethan sleeping so soundly.............. Blue=Boy.. haha! Why can't boys and girls all wear green? =P Baby Ethan has his dad's nose.. haha...

Me and the baby~ He's so small and fragile, I'd better not carry him, just in case I plant a baluku somewhere on him.... haha..

Cammie and I.. with the small one in the middle.. and coincidentally, with the parents' picture above his head... HAHA...

Gawa mates unite! Mummy Jean is still as pretty as before.. I still rem her nickname given by us back then... "Pong Pia".. haha.. coz her face is round, but definitely cute and still pretty... haha.. Baby Ethan was beginning to cry when we were taking this pic.. Look at his red red face =P

Desmond (extreme right in the picture above) almost forgot about the full month party! =P I had to ring him up to remind..... omg~ haha...

The proud and happy parents... with the very shy Baby Ethan~ Be good and listen to your parents k... haha!

As they enter another phase in their lives... I hear wedding bells ringing for another member in the clan... Congrats Desmond! Another one getting married......... haha...

Happy Mother's Day, dearest Mummy~

9th May is Mother's Day... =) We had an advanced celebration few days before the actual day coz Mummy had to work.. But nevetherless, on Saturday, Daddy drove the whole family out for a lovely brunch at Jalan Kayu! haha.. It was a simple, sumptious and oily brunch.. Though there're so many stalls selling prata along Jalan Kayu, we've been eating at this particular stall since I was born.. haha.. maybe daddy and mummy pak tor-ed there during their younger days..

Daddy striking a super handsome pose... With Mummy flashing her beautiful smile! =)

All of the same colour... haha.. almost the same taste, but different filling.. some kosong, some terok, some with meat inside.. haha... prata has so many forms! =P

Dig in! Yummy~

Oh, by the way, our dear Ah Qi has rebonded her hair.... hahahhaa... she's been talking about it for don't know how many months.. maybe years? and finally.. she went to do it.. and guess what?

.
.
.
.

I think she looks like me now........ We share the same nose shape, front teeth 'angle', hair length, etc.......... with just the hair parting different.. In short, we're mirror image to each other.. goodness~

Haha...

But I know she loves her straight hair alot.. Swee lah!

After brunch, we presented Mummy with her Mother's day gift and trotted off to do some shopping before sending Mummy to work.. =)

Happy Mother's Day dearest Mummy~ - From the 3 little pigs + Papa Pig
*which means Mummy is Mother Pig =P* hahahha...........

MBS

Finally, MBS - Marina Bay Sands opened its doors to the public! Another iconic architecture to add another sparkle to Singapore Skyline.. Singapore's Nightview has changed over the years, it has become more colourful, brighter, livelier and I'm sure there'll be more to come in years to come...

I still remember passing by the MBS construction site some time back and it was barely visible from far.. It was basically grey and boring (and dusty).. haha.. small rocks and stones often flew up from the roads (and hit me =P) when Mr Koh and I rode past it.. haha...

Now, we have come to witness it's soft launch...
There were traffic jams everywhere.. Human traffic and car traffic.. both equally bad..  =P That I understand, coz that's what makes us Singaporeans~ We're all excited about its opening!

Me with the stylish hotel..

Beside me is the Convention area.. haha.. The carpet looks posh I must say.. perhaps it's due to it's proximity to the Casino nearby, that they chose red as the main colour of the carpet? Red means fortune ma.. Red was like the theme colour.. red clothes, red underwear, etc.. HAHA! spells "Huat arh!"

Somehow it reminded me of the Genting Casino....... Will I ever go in one day? haha.. hmmm... I wonder...

Shopping was abundant too! Alot of branded stores I forsee.. but most have not opened yet... There are around 3 levels of shopping, with the basement shops looking more familiar to me.. HAHA... casino level boutiques belong to another realm (don't really appeal to me), for casino's big winners to shop their hearts out.. haha..

Throngs of people... everywhere! Thankfully the aircon was working fine.. haha.. If not I'll be drowned in my own pool of perspiration =P

More people...........

We went down to the lower levels to check out what's in store......

The empty canal on the right of the picture looks like some some water pathway.. though it's empty now, I strongly believe that it will be a water canal.. water in fengshui terms means WEALTH! very logical deduction.. haha.. reminds me of the casino in macau though.. coz they have a venice themed casino, with a similar water canal in the middle of the shopping area + casino..

We ventured outdoors to enjoy the nightview....... captivating!

Of course, how can we miss the hotel???

Haha... Everything about the hotel spells posh and style.. The lighting, the deco, the ceiling.. We went "WOAH" for a good 2 seconds.. like some suagu tourists who've never been to a hotel before.. hahaha.. but seriously, I was charmed... =)

Mr Koh will treat me to an all expensed paid stay at the MBS hotel.... *in my dreams*... HAHA!

Check out MBS if you've time... You'll be pleasantly entertained by the sheer architecture and deco.. It'll only get better.. =)
