CNY 2013

Haven't been updating my blog recently, but here's a post on my CNY this year.. Year of the sneaky snake!

On CNY eve, we headed down to Beh Beh Yi's place for dinner, and our annual counting down at Chinatown.. Haha! This is how we have been spending our CNY eve every year =)

We soon made our way to the heart of Chinatown to immerse ourselves in the festive mood.. Haha.. Hoping to find some good deals too =p

But over the years, Chinatown has become more and more crowded.. The demographics and profile of the crowd has also changed.. Making the experience less enjoyable than past years.. Oh well, it's CNY, I shall not dwell into it.. Haha

Today is the 14th day of the CNY, tomorrow is the 15th.. It's also the Chinese's Valentine's day =) here's wishing everyone a happy 元宵节!

In a few hours' time, I'll be heading over to Korea with Mr Koh for our vacation! Very excited and not knowing how we'll handle the cold weather.. Haha.. But I'll take tonnes of pictures.. Haha!

I shall leave my valentine's day dinner and anniversary celebration post for another day, when I return.. Hee!

 

Ready to usher in the year of the snake!

In a few hour's time, we will bid the year of the dragon goodbye and welcome the year of the snake!

Had a mini reunion dinner with Mr Koh (and Jay Chou) at 八度空间 cafe some days back~

And had my family reunion lunch earlier! =) a yearly affair~ simple steamboat.. Very simple but delicious..

 

I've changed my bed sheets too! Haha.. We are ready for the new year~ =)

Now it's time to head down to Beh Beh Yi's place and then to Chinatown to soak in the festivities.. haha! Hopefully I won't get squashed in the crowds =p

As the year of snake slithers in

The month of January has finally ended~ while most would sigh at how fast time flew by, I would rather January not existed in my calendar.. Work planning period made me lose several billions of brain cells =p Haha.. I'm very thankful Feb is here! One of my favourite months in the year =)

I used to look forward to my zodiac year when I was a kid.. I felt "great" during my zodiac year.. Haha.. but ever since I passed my second cycle (I.e. meaning after I turned 24 years old), I never wanted to know/keep track when my third cycle would come.. It's almost like a taboo, the unthinkable.. Perhaps I exaggerated a little, but the thought of turning 30 is freaking me out...

Anyways, other than the growing older part =p there's nothing I dislike about the Lunar new year (affectionately known as Chinese New Year).. The reunion lunch/dinner, feasting, buying of new clothes and shoes, the catchy songs, Bak Kwa, ang pows, and so much more~

In less than a week's time, it will be the year of the snake! Do head down to Chinatown and soak in the festivities.. Go queue for your bak kwa if you haven't! Do some spring cleaning too!

 

Now I feel like a naggy mum =p
