If I have an elder sister...

I do wonder at times how different my life would be if I had an elder sister… I wished I had an elder sister to give me advice, encouragement and pamper me like a little princess at home… To be my pillar of strength and the person I will go to whenever I need help or advice on matters relating to school, work, relationships or simply just everyday matters… You know there are certain things you don’t tell or ask your parents or friends, because you didn’t want them to worry or trouble them… But I wished I had that elder sister who could give me the most honest (could be brutal, even if the truth hurts) advice and guide me along when I’ve hit a rough patch in life… I can take hard truths, just hit it at my face and I’ll take it like a man… Go ahead and wake me up if I’ve indeed made a wrong move…

A dependable and rational voice to accompany me during my growing up years, helping me conquer my deepest fears and share my deepest secrets with, stop me from making the same mistakes she did when she was younger… Perhaps my life would have been different from what it is now, if I had an elder sister who would encourage me to chase my dreams and travel the world when I’m young, push me to perform beyond my potential, constantly remind me not to settle for anything less, and remind me that the world is my oyster…

I guess over the years, I’ve learnt much and have had the privilege to make some major decisions in my life myself… there is no turning back, and no point in wanting to rewrite history even if the decision was bad, or even question myself if the decision was right… the only way is to go forward with the decisions I’ve made and make the best out of them…

Sometimes, I do wish I have such an elder sister…

But since now I’m the elder sister, I do hope to be that sister that could give my little sisi such advice to make her journey forward more fulfilling and satisfying~ =)

That being said, it's time to head out with my mp3 and vibrams.. It's time for some "me time"......

Happy Mummy's Day!

We had a simple mothers' day dinner over at the pu tian cuisine restaurant opposite our place =) it was Zhi char fare again~ mummy's favourite..
The female lead that night..
Yummy!
After dinner we strolled around the neighbourhood and walked brother and his wife back to their car.. Everyone loves his car! The 'bengish' integra with Matt black front and Neon green sticker strip by the sides.. I want this car too!

Heart beats faster when I see his car.. Haha.. My childhood dream of owning a 'bengish' car was revived! My favourite colours on his car.. Omg =p

I always feel like a man trapped in a woman's body.. Haha.. I want my own car too!!

We ignored the driver for a few minutes and took many pictures with his car like mountain turtles who have not seen a car before =p it's really pretty la.....

Daddy's hands are getting itchy..
Haha.. Then he requested for more pictures with the car.. Like it's his own =p

At driver's door
Now with the spoiler.. Haha
Finally it's my turn!
But it's a badly taken shot =p unlike those that I took for Daddy.. Haha

Enough of his car... We headed back and presented mummy with her handmade card and gift! =)

A handbag! Haha

Simple evening around the neighbourhood with my family~

Happy mummy's day my dearest mummy.. 辛苦你了,把我们这三个小坏蛋带大!I love you!

Labour day at the West

On labour day, we headed to the far west and became abit more cultural (instead of our usual city haunts).. We explored Kranji War Memorial and I was surprised to find out that it is a very well maintained heritage site.. Armed with an assortment of cameras, ranging from the vintage film camera to the digital one, and finally my trusty phone camera, we quietly explored the area and began clicking away..
It is a quiet and beautiful place (Other than the incessant mossie attacks).. Weather that day was lovely too~ Rows and rows of graves neatly lined, and many had pretty flowers planted beside their graves..
I watched a short feature film on Kranji war memorial and got to know that the youngest soldier who died during the war was only 16 years old.. War is indeed cruel..
Let's be respectful and thank the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Singapore..
Since we're around the far west, we hopped over to Kranji Farm for an excursion too~
Huge papayas!
Big mangoes too!
Bunch of Jambus...
We tried our hands at prawning too.. Haha after a 2-3 months hiatus.. We caught approximately 10 prawns after 2 hrs.. Haha..
Bunch of Jambus...

And so this was how we spent our labour day~

Day trip to JB with my parents~

Took leave on one of the weekdays to go over to JB with my parents~ it was a good break from hectic work, and a perfect time to replenish my contact lenses stock and some toiletries.. Haha..

Always feels good to get my passport chopped, though it's just across the causeway =)

Headed over to KSL, and this time dad did his research and led us to the bus terminal to catch a bus over.. Not bad, he did his homework.. Haha a very responsible 'tour guide' indeed..

We strolled around the mall, and stopped every now and then to feed our stomachs.. Haha.. It's nice not to think about work, but just enjoy the meal and company =) time just flew by so quickly..

We had lunch at their swensen's lookalike - season's.. Haha and food prices were half of that in Singapore.. We savoured the food at a leisurely pace.. We had our fill and continued shopping once we were done..

With mummy dearest~
Striking a handsome pose..
Not long after lunch, we spotted Assam laksa! Haha couldn't resist it, we exercised our mouths again.. Haha

Yums!

I personally preferred old town's to this.. Apparently this joint is pretty famous, but I found it abit too sweet for my liking.. Haha

There were no pictures of us shopping as our hands were full with the barangs barangs =p

Nevertheless, it was a good and fun day out with my folks.. Our version of 买东西,吃东西,买东西,吃东西。。。

Looking forward to the next JB shopping trip.. Haha!

Promo treat at Westin Hotel

Gave Mr Koh a treat few weeks back to celebrate my recent promotion.. Haha.. It was a belated one, coz I told him we had to control our diets, and not to eat so much before our photoshoot.. Haha

So after our photoshoot, we set a date and went over to Westin hotel for a buffet feast! Shioks!

Also on the same day of the feast, we headed over to Asian Civilisation Museum for an exhibition before we gorge ourselves, for a free exhibition.. Haha..

There was a play booth for face masks, supposedly faces of ladies from the Tang Dynasty, and we were free to paste various shapes of eyebrows, lips and accessories onto the masks.. Haha.. It was actually pretty fun, fooling around =p

Our creations! Haha
We then slowly made our way, and took a long stroll to Westin Hotel =)

It's our first time there~

Nice view~
The view from level 32
Overlooking PSA...
I love to dine high up in the sky.. Haha
We were one of the first few patrons for dinner

We got a table that offered a pretty good view of the Marina Bay Area.. Can you spot the Art Science Museum in the background? =)
Glorious Seafood!!
I can't help but drool while looking at the pictures again.. Haha.. I love crabs and scallops!!!
So we took our time, and watched the skies slowly turned dark as we savoured the food.. And watch the Singapore Flyer being illuminated from afar~ so pretty... Such an enjoyment =)
And it was finally time for desserts.. Haha.. Yummy~

There's so much to choose from, how I wish I can finish everything on the table.. Too bad i only have 1 stomach =p

We left Westin feeling super full and satisfied.. Haha.. There goes the diet plan~ but who cares, it's a celebration! Haha..

*pat on my back*

A little step forward in my career, a little recognition of my efforts =)

Sisi's birthday!

It's my Sisi's birthday on 3rd April, a month back.. Haha.. Her series birthday celebrations was like a marathon.. There were dinner celebrations outside and back at home~ like a celebrity!
First up, it's a Korean dinner at Bibigo @ Nex.. Haha.. I think she's half Korean now, after spending a few weeks at Korea studying.. She loves almost everything Korean~
And on her actual day~ it was cake cutting session! Haha.. Although it's a little small..
Family Selfie!
Happy birthday my dearest Sisi.. All grown up already~ a beautiful and intelligent lady =)

We met up with Beh Beh Yi for dinner too.. Treated them to some casual European dining..

She said she was very happy that day.. Haha coz she had her favourite foods that day - steak and good cup of coffee..
The happiest girl that day~

Happy birthday my dear sisi.. Another year older, and may all good and happy things surround you all the time~ =) enjoy the best time of your life! YOLO.. haha..

Pre-wedding Photoshoot

Our pre-wedding photoshoot was arranged on 1st April.. On April's fool day! Thankfully no one pulled a prank on us.. The weather almost did! It was raining just as we were making our way to the bridal studio.. But very glad it stopped in time and the weather was beautiful throughout the photoshoot..

Flashback to our final gown fitting 2 days before the photoshoot..

I did my own nails too! =)

Finally on the day of photoshoot....

We arrived at the studio early at 11am and had our make up and hair done after 2 hours.. Honestly, it was awkward watching the make up artist pile tonnes of make up on my face.. Along with the eye tape to make my double eyelids more pronounced, and 2 sets of fake eyelashes.. It took much effort to open my eyes.. I'm not kidding.. I've never had such thick make up done before and I took some time to accept the me I saw in the mirror.. Haha! I didn't wow myself, and secretly wish I could wipe the make up off my face =p

Letting the ampoules sit on my face
He did the same too.. Haha
And we changed into our first outfit..

I love the flowy ruffles
A shot together~

And off we went! In their mini van.. Really glad we had the mini van.. Makes traveling around so much more convenient and comfortable.. They prepared buns and fruits for us too! =) I couldn't be more grateful and glad... First stop was mac Ritchie for some scenic shots.. It's a beautiful place with much memories too~

2nd stop.. Singapore flyer!

Where we first changed into our casual wear for some casual shots.. Haha.. As we had intended to take our casual shots at the vintage food centre, we had to dress to suit the theme! Back to the 50's.. Me in the what I call "peasant girl cheongsam" and his "peasant boy in suspenders look".. Haha.. Managed to capture some pics with his camera that he brought as props! Clever.. Haha

Screen shot of '千里之外's MTV..

Haha.. Got feel or not? =p

We changed into our second outfit, me in red and him in black.. Too bad we don't have pics of us in that now.. And took a few more shots of us around the food centre and flyer surroundings..

Last stop, my favourite night shot at the gorgeous MBS area.. I've always wanted to take pre wedding shots there coz the CDB skyline is awesome, at least to me.. Singapore is beautiful enough, and there is no other better place/country to take our wedding shots than right here in Singapore, where we are familiar and grow up in =)

No pictures of our photoshoot to show yet, as we haven't gotten the soft copies of the pictures that we selected.. Haha.. But here's one, of us back at the studio after a long hard day.. Famished and tired too! It was fun~ thankfully all went well..

Then it was dinner time!!
Here's a sneak preview of two pics that we selected (that we secretly took while selecting pictures) haha.. And a compiled thumbnail list of all the selected 35 pictures.. We shall patiently await the completion of our wedding photo album =)
