Opus Jay Concert 2013!

Long-waited post on my idol's concert.. Hahaha..

After 12 long years of growing up with Jay's songs, KTV-ing his songs, looping his songs in my long-retired creative MP3 during my schooling years... I finally attended my first ever Jay Chou concert! (The F1 concert last year didn't count as it's not exactly his own concert.. Haha) 8th June was a day to remember!

I was very excited! And very looking forward to his concert day.. I kept listening to songs from his new album and some catchy old tunes too, and memorized the lyrics.. So that I could sing along with him that day.. Haha! It's pretty unbelievable that I'm finally going to see my idol up close, serenaded in the house of Jay! Omg omg omg..

My precious tickets! Thank you Felicia who helped me buy the tickets!l

So... We went there early (too early in fact) to check out his concert merchandise.. Haha.. And I bought quite a few collectibles like a key chain figurine, land yard and a light stick! Hahaha.. Happy!! =) wanted to get his cap, but it was sold out! =(

偶像!
Us with 周杰伦! yay.....
Soon.. Skies started to dim a little and my long-awaited concert was finally going to start! Woohoo....

Settled nicely at our seats and waiting for Jay to mesmerize us (or me)! Haha..
We were seated by the side, pretty near the stage, but we were at level 2...

People start to stream in..
Almost time........
A sea of pink~
And finally... The time I've been waiting for.... 周杰伦,周杰伦,周杰伦。。。。。

One of my favourite picture of the night =) 帅!
The moment he came onto stage, my heart stopped for a few seconds.. Overwhelmed with excitement and happiness! It's true, it felt surreal.. No longer am I seeing him on tv, videos, or hearing him on radio.. He was right before my eyes, in the same venue, breathing the same air.. Hahaha.. *fangirl* =) his voice... Omg!

He sang quite a number of songs from his latest album (hence the concert title - Opus), interspersed with a few popular songs from his past albums... Omg... He seriously took me back to my growing up years.. I was lost in the moment, totally mesmerised and felt like i went back in time as I sang along with him..

The first song I heard from Jay chou was '龙卷风'.. I remembered I was sipping my bubble tea at 'quickly' at selegie, while waiting for my tuition to start.. Haha.. The song literally blew me away~ totally in love with his R&B style, the way he reaches high notes effortlessly.. It's just so original, I've never heard anyone who could sing like him.. No fake accents, just his style - shy but packs much musical talent and vocal power..

The past 12 years saw him gradually shooting to fame with albums after albums, hits after hits, diversifying into filming/directing and hosting his own shows.. Has his fair share of praises, along with criticisms (which doesn't bother me at all.. Haha!) he's undeniably talented lah =p

晴天。。
The medley of old hits brought me back to my younger days.. Beautiful memories of those carefree and simple days back then.. 单纯,天真,快乐美好。。真的好怀念。。

The last song saw streamers falling from the ceiling.. Such a pretty sight!
Followed by 3 encore songs.. Haha.. Which was of course not enough for me! =p

Singing his new song - 手语
The concert ended after approximately 2.5 hrs.. Which was too short! =p
Final shot with the stage..
With Mr Koh who accompanied me, and had to endure my non-stop screaming and shouting and shrieking throughout.. Haha.. It's hard to control when I'm meeting my idol.. A big thank you to you, I know it's embarrassing to sit beside an over excited fan =p

And the crowd slowly dispersed...

Pls come back soon Jay! I still want to attend more of your concerts.. And do continue singing, I will bring my kids to your concert next time, and make them like your songs too! Haha.. I grew up with Jay's songs for the past 12 years, let's do another 12 years! =)

Haze haze go away~

My lovely little island is now covered with thick and awful haze.. All thanks to the neighbour =( it is so bad that I missed taking in huge breaths of air! YOU! Return the fresh air back to me!

With my precious N95 mask

I remembered the last time when Singapore was hit by such bad haze was when I was still a student, back in 1997.. We didn't have high-tech masks called N95 then (maybe there were but that wasn't so prevalent).. Friends recalled that school had to stop coz of the haze (did it?).. And I only remembered myself staring out of the windows every now and then to see how blur things outside were, and monitored the PSI index that was reported on tv.. Haha.. There was no such a thing called social media.. No Facebook, twitter, news forums, 3G to check for hourly updates on NEA website, etc.. There were only the tv, radio and newspapers.. Haha.. Those were the days =p think the haze lasted for a week or two then..

My neighborhood stinks now!

And so... It became an annual affair, an irritating one! And this time round things seem to be pretty serious.. [}%}~^>*¥'$?,]{<;,)$&@¥\|'... You get what I mean.. My lunches were limited to office canteen food coz I can't bear standing/walking in the haze for long, the thought of poisonous dust particles getting stuck on my lungs or in my blood was horrifying.. PSI 401... My health! My weekends are almost wasted, I can't breathe normally, I can't see properly, I can't do outdoor activities, etc.. N I have no clue when this will end =(

But as I complain and curse this man-made disaster, I worry for the needy, construction workers working outdoors, and especially the elderly who couldn't get proper N95 masks, who had to breathe in toxic air coz they don't have air conditioning at home, who had to brave the awful haze when their bodies are not as fit as the younger folks... But they are not complaining, and suffering in silence.. My heart goes out to them! Just heard that the government will be distributing 1 mil masks to 200,000 low-income families.. Hope more help goes into helping the elderly too.. Singapore, let's help one another tide through this~

Meanwhile my friends, let's brace ourselves and tide through this awful haze together.. Let's watch out for one another, and stay healthy.. fight the stupid haze monster *hmph* I want my garden city back!

JB trip with family!

Haven't been blogging for the past 2 weeks, coz I was out quite abit and lazy.. Haha..

Just 2 weeks ago I took leave to head over to JB for a short day trip! =) it's my kind of 买东西吃东西, coz everything is so affordable over there! Just a few train and bus trips and we're there! I get my supplies of contact lenses and misc toiletries there too.. Haha..

Lunch at old town.. The best combi! =)

We headed over to old town for a quick lunch before all the shopping.. Haha.. My favourite Assam laksa! Yummy~~

Tummies were filled and we slowly embarked on the shopping frenzy..

And then it was snack time again! Haha..

Sisi's watermelon sago
Dad's mango with pulut hitam..
While mummy and I shared this fruit platter with coconut noodles!

Yums yums yums! Very happy and satisfied =)

We continued shopping.. And I realized I didn't take pictures of us shopping =p only when we were eating.. Haha

Finally dinner time was at Kim Gary's! Hahaha.. I just love how we can eat and eat and shop and shop without worry~ though now I'm a little concerned about the calories I piled on unknowingly.. Haha..

More on food!!!

Dad with his pork chop baked rice
Mummy very happy with her spaghetti..
Sisi with her pork burger!
Me with my Korean stone grilled rice!

Words cannot describe how full we were after dinner.. Haha.. But it was a great day out! =) filled with a lot of shopping, yummy food and quality time spent with my family..

They say 能吃是福.. Indeed! But everything should be in moderation, so that I can stay healthy and continue eating like that till I'm old =p

Think I'll head over to JB again in a few months' time.. When my supplies are getting low.. Haha

My parents' face-timing session

Coz my Sisi's going Korea for her 6-weeks exchange soon, we taught our parents how to use face-time so that they can still chat virtually with her when they miss their little princess or want to see how she's getting along..

Turns out they were having so much fun that they ended up blabbering and laughing non-stop, and were fascinated seeing each other on the screen.. Haha! My parents are so cute =)

The Face-time Couple!

Aijia's big day!

Another of my good friend's wedding~ and my second time being a 'jie mei' =)

Weddings are happy affairs, but tiring too.. I see brides and grooms spending months preparing for their wedding, photoshoot, planning, sourcing for a venue, losing sleep over it, constantly worrying about what could go wrong on the actual wedding day, sometimes even end up quarreling with each other while planning... So much work for that one day~ if it's not for the conviction and love for each other, I don't know what can motivate both, compromising and putting in so much effort to make it happen..

The jie meis woke up early that day, and I understand that most of us had only less than 4 hrs of sleep.. Of course the bride didn't catch a wink at all.. Haha.. She was too excited for her Prince Charming to come pick her up..

Aijia was too excited she couldn't stop talking! Haha
Pretty Aijia all ready for Tze Liang's arrival
I'm really happy for my dear friend! =)

We prepared the gate crashing 'dishes' and patiently waited for the groom and his gang of brothers to arrive.. It wasn't very tough for the brothers, and the games and haggling for more hong baos was of course done in the name of fun.. Making the atmosphere more lively.. After close to 30 mins of gate crashing games, Tze Liang was allowed to meet his bride.. Haha..

The blissful couple..

Then it was some outdoor photoshoot at punggol waterway before heading over to the groom's place for tea ceremony..

Driving off in their beetle~
At the groom's place..

Then back to her house for the tea ceremony to her side's relatives

Aijia in her pretty tea dress..
Aijia and I! =)

Then it was back to my place.. For me to take a short nap before I head over to Conrad hotel.. To prepare, make up, change into something more presentable, rehearse.. Coz I was her wedding's mandarin emcee! Hahaha.. But thanks to Mr Koh who wrote the speech for me, I only need to read the words out =p

Us, posing at the hotel room's huge toilet.. Haha

Soon it was time for a short briefing and rehearsal with the event coordinator, before the solemnisation...

Where they both said 'I do'
With Mr Chua and the girls..

I didn't take a lot of pictures that night coz I was moving about quite abit, and had to standby to emcee at various intervals.. Though it was a long and tiring day, I am happy to share dear Aijia's joy and see her happily married to her beloved~ =)

I'm sure she's in safe hands, and will continue to be doted and loved by Tze Liang.. Witnessing how their relationship grew and blossomed, a very loving and blissful couple indeed.. 很令人羡慕的一对..

Wishing Aijia and Tze Liang a wonderful marriage! Now I'm waiting for their little ones to come along, so that I can play with them =p
