A Tribute to MJ

I've always enjoyed listening to MJ's songs since young.. I grew up with his songs.. His voice is so young and clean, it's beautiful~

I remember waking up to his songs every weekend coz Daddy will always play his LD in our mini karaoke room.. Back in my old house, which is now few blocks away from my current house.. hahhaa...

Was awfully shocked yesterday morning when heard on the radio that he passed away 4am Singapore time.. My heart sank, for a few seconds....

I sighed.. Another great loss to the entertainment industry.. He's a legend, with a life too complicated and complex to comprehend...

But whatever it is, I hope he finds peace in his other 'Neverland Ranch'........

Happy Birthday Bear!

Happy Birthday Seetoh~ Now, she has been promoted to the ‘23’ league! haha.. I would like to think that it’s a good thing… Growing wiser day by day… I don’t dare to think what will happen to me when I’m 25.. Sounds pretty far, but I know no matter how, the merciless time will always escape my powerful clutches… haha! no matter how hard I grab it……

Anyways, Qian Ru, Seetoh and I met for dinner at Soup Spoon… My first time eating there! =)

After the simple yet filling dinner, we went up the sky =) Yes~ 70 floors up the sky!

We went up to City Space Bar, which was located right at the top of swissotel… =) The ride up took less than 15 seconds… OMG! and my ears almost burst when I reached the top =P Had to constantly swallow my saliva to unblock my ears… haha…

We ordered the expensive drinks.. FYI, every patron has to order a drink.. No sharing.. haha! So, it you’re on a tight budget, you are advised not to visit this place.. hahaha…

Posing with our drinks! *cheers* Seetoh had baileys.. While I had this martini called “sweet indulgence”… Which I don’t think the waitress got my order right.. I shall explain later… I’m sure I didn’t order something by the name of Sweet Indulgence (sounds LC right? hahaha!)

The story goes like this.. When Qian Ru’s order came, this waitress said it’s sweet indulgence (which is not possible, coz i rem it’s called sour apple martini).. We asked another waitress to clarify and she said it’s sour apple martini.. Ok, cleared…

Then my drink came (I seriously forgot the name of my drink coz I asked the waitress to recommend something nice earlier..), the waitress told me it’s sweet indulgence (I’m sure it’s not sweet indulgence coz I won’t order a martini with such a name =P) hahaha!

So, the conclusion is… The waitresses like to name drinks “sweet indulgence”… Anyhow anyhow =P

But seriously, their drinks are lethal.. A sip will assure you that the money you paid is all worthwhile =P Drinks from Dbl-O can step aside..

There was a live band there as well… That sang some soothing tunes.. It was pretty romantic.. Lights were dim, but not very dark… Songs were nice~

We dedicated a birthday song for Seetoh.. and the waitress presented her with the birthday cake we got for her.. It was planned before hand.. (the cake was bought from outside, and due to the bar’s weird rules, we were not allowed to consume outside food…) So, the cake was just for show.. HAHA! poor seetoh had to bring the cake home to eat) =P

Happy Father’s Day

It was Father’s Day last Sunday, but I was in Batam =P So unfilial I know… But but we had an early celebration instead on Friday! =) TGIF……..

But being a good daughter, I treated the whole family to Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice at Boon Keng. It was a heart-warming (literally too) dinner =) Ah girl (ahem), found a new job, just got paid… So it calls for a celebration.. Double celebration in fact~ =)

What’s more, it was a Friday! Mummy was on leave that day….. it was a family gathering! hahaha…

I've never really liked Lee Hom... Haha! Coz there's always this particular Taiwan Ah Beng who kept me loyal to him for years... =P

But I quite like this song by Lee Hom.. A pretty recent song.. called 心跳..
A sad song.. And I find the lyrics meaningful.. I've always loved sad love songs, not that I'm caught in such a predicament, but I just think they sound better and are filled with more emotions~

I am a Jay Chou fan~

This is my whole collection of Jay Chou’s albums.. Since the year 2001~

If you’re a fan of Jay, you’ll know which album* is missing from this picture… =P (Ans at the end)

Hahahaha… It all began with this random Ah Beng from this computer shop which I got my Laptop from… He was playing this album in his shop, then I asked if that’s Jay’s new album (then), he asked if I want the album.. Then tadah, he uploaded the whole album into my brand new lappie.. HAHA! I felt so bad after that, I’ve disappointed my idol…….. hee!

Anyways…… I can’t wait for Jay’s new album =)

The day my Presto died…

It was a very unfortunate event… I shall now pronounce my long-serving Presto dead….

Bought my Presto when I was in JC.. 17 yrs old, the age when my friends and I were still young and happy (I still am!)… haha.. Place of birth: Queensway shopping centre.. Still rem I bought this pair after scanning through all the shops at Queensway (the place to be when we want to buy cheap and good sportswear)

This pair had gone through so much with me.. alot of memories.. haha! And my theme in JC was green… I had a green Ripcurl bag and bought this green Nike Presto to go with it.. HAHA! =)

Let me narrate the whole incident…

I wore my Presto out for a Jog one early morning, coz mummy needed to wear my present pair for work.. I seldom wore my Presto as it was not in the best-est condition since some time ago.. haha… So so, I finally decided to bring it out for a good jog!

After fitting my feet in, it felt like the good old days (Prestos makes me feel like not wearing any shoes at all, they are amazingly soft!)…

And I was ready to go! =)

I jogged to the running track near my place.. all’s fine initially, until i felt some ‘flapping’ action at the front of the shoe.. I thought it was just water as it rained the night before…

To my horror, I SAW the flapping action after my 2nd round… Refusing to stop since I woke up so early.. I must at least jog 6 rds before I head home…

The flapping action got worse after the 3rd round and after 3.5 rounds, I decided to stop.. Before it gives way (I start to imagine the whole sole coming off before I got home.. How traumatizing~)

Then I reluctantly made my way home.. With the flapping sound which was soo irritating and embarrassing.. haha! I got a little irritated and avoided crowded areas.. haha! It was super malu…

After 10 minutes of flapping.. I am finally nearing my house.. Almost there and the flapping from the left shoe got worse! haha… Now not only the front was flapping, the back was flapping too!

PIAK~ The whole sole came off…………….

I was no longer irritated, I was laughing in fact.. At how silly I must have looked……. =P I pretended to walk normally, holding the dropped-off sole in one hand, left shoe without a sole, while the horrible flapping continued on the right feet… ignoring the few curious stares that I attracted during the 50m back to my lift… hahahahaha~

Meet up with BD’s Charlie’s Angels

Met up with Peronel and Catherine last week after work =) It’s been around a month since I last met them (I used to see them every other day back in office).. haha!

We had a special guest that evening too… We had Vera with us…. Not Vera Wang, but Vera Teo… hee!

This angel here climbs, jumps, molest, drools, cries, laughs and smiles all the time… hahahaha!

We went to this Japanese restaurant at Central… Just beside my office building actually.. haha~ The restaurant has this vv authentic and local (In Japanese term) feel.. Like some traditional stall you’ll find in Japan.. And the sad thing is, I don’t know the name of the restaurant.. Can’t recommend it nicely here… =P Will update the name again.. haha!

I had this spicy ramen which looks like normal fishball you mee… HAHA! It looks vvv not-spicy and I thought the waitress got my order wrong.. =P

But I was pleasantly surprised after sipping the soup.. haha! It was lethal… woohoo! shuang~

Next, we adjourned to Coffee Club….. Haha~ We girls love coffee sessions at coffee houses =)

We ordered this Muddy Mud Pie that was awesome.. As usual.. haha~

Most of the time, we were maids to lil Vera… haha! We took turns to be ‘molested’, kicked, pulled hair, drooled on………. But I think we enjoyed it.. of course, for a while only.. HAHA~

I was irritating Vera all night coz I kept asking her ‘ Papa leh?”… Apparently this girl doesnt care abt the daddy when she’s out having fun with us.. Hee!

The day before I started work..

I know this is a very belated entry, but.. haha! I still want to pen it down… hee! =)

It was the Sunday before I start work.. And i woke up feeling vv sad.. haha~ real sad.. coz I’ll be starting work soon =P The next day in fact…

We went out for brunch as a family and it was our usual hangout again.. The Bak Kut Teh store at Kelantan Lane *Yums*

You should check out the stall wor~ The Pig’s Trotters is woo la la! haha… Big and juicy legs.. *drools* And the lady of the stall always give daddy free rice.. haha~ a very ‘scandalous’ affair… HAHA!

Then I had a very nice dinner with Mr. Koh at Mad Jack Cafe at Jalan Kayu =) Very nice ambience.. Very family-oriented restaurant.. Maybe because it has this woody theme, and most of the furniture in the cafe are made of wood.. haha!

   

This is Mr. Koh with his very tall burger, with a slice of pineapple stuffed in between the layers.. haha! The taste of the patty? Not the usual kind of patty which you’ll find at fast-food restaurants… haha~ Tastes very healthy and unprocessed… Personally, I like unhealthy food.. HAHA!

The fries… Very nice and unhealthy! =) Hahaha~ It’s a piece of art…

 

And this is me…. With my very boring but delicious Chicken Chop! hee~ Boring coz I always order chicken chop everywhere I go… =P But it tastes good.. The price is reasonable as well!

So there goes my very happy 2 weeks of freedom, eating, slacking and sleeping…. Haha~

Back to reality! *knock knock*

Escape Day!

It was a day of sun and fun over at Downtown East’s Escape Theme Park on Saturday.. The weekend before I started working… =)

After so many years, I finally set foot in Escape again.. haha~ This time round, a little older, with Mr. Koh, Weiting and Huixian… It was NTUC Fairprice Family Day actually and Huixian got free tickets to the event (free entry to Escape and some other freebies).. We reached at around 930am… So early wor!

We barged into the ‘haunted house’ first.. haha.. coz we just had a pretty filling breakfast.. Trying anything else would make us puke =P Mr Koh and I went into the haunted house first, following us were Weiting and Huixian and some other strangers.. I was screaming and hiding all the way.. I must have spoilt all the fun for the ones behind.. Since I screamed all the way (No fun and excitement for them =P)… HAHA!

We went for the Viking Ride next (thinking that the food should have settled nicely into our stomachs) But nope… Though thrilling and I did scream, (HAHA! how hilarious right? WeiShi screaming =P) Mr Koh and I both felt nauseous after the ride.. They call it the morning sickness! HAHA…

Next ride, the flume ride (aka the water-splash-all-over-body-ride)… Hahaha….. Highly anticipated~ haha.. after observing, I realized that the one at the back gets wetter than the one in front, so without hesitation, I volunteered to take the front seat.. (fyi, the boat has 2 seats only, front and back) We are supposed to take this wooden boat which will bring us up a steep slope, before sliding down into the water… Be prepared for a big splash of water after descent =P hahaha.. sounds fun?

So we queued for around 20 mins.. before we boarded the boat… yipee!

So, what happened after the ride?

Dry girls and wet boys! hahaa….. Poor Mr. Koh~ He was soaking wet… Really wet…

Then… we went off to try the ferris wheel…. =) Coz we had nothing else to play.. Go Kart queue was amazingly long.. Aww~ *pouts*

Then, it was indoor games time.. We bought game tickets to play some indoor fun fair games.. prizes are not vv attractive, but I guess it’s the sense of achievement and joy that makes you want to win one of those stuff toys home.. =)

   

We tried our luck at the horse-racing booth.. But missed the prize by just a little.. haha~

Then, we exited Escape and proceeded to the big tent near the main event venue located inside Downtown East (Sheltered Public Area).. There were indoor carnival games as well.. But the prizes were pretty ‘sad’ too… haha.. But it’s ok.. They were practical gifts…

 

And a super embarrassing thing happened =P I don’t intend to mention this, but I guess it’s no secret as well.. haha.. HAIZ! There was this emcee on stage who was looking for the tallest girl… and somehow or rather, I was on stage few moments later.. haha…. IT WAS VVVV MALU! I wanted to bang my head against the wall, after knowing that I’m shorter than the other lady on stage (I must admit, she was taller.. maybe 2/3 cm taller).. GOODNESS! It was 5 seconds of malu fame =P

We spent the rest of the day at Tampines IKEA, Courts and Giant… and finally settling down at a boardwalk at Changi Village for a nice place to sit, relax and chat… Let time fly by~

Look at our eyes… We were very tired! =P

But it was a happy escape~ hahaha…….
