Our restaurant week!

Haha.. In conjunction with Singapore's restaurant week (18-24 March), we had our own restaurant week too, and we (or rather I), decided that ours would be an international styled one! =)

We had authentic French, Turkish, Spanish and Fusion cuisine during that week.. Haha!

I'm sure we both piled on a few kilos and much calories after that week.. Haha.. Now I'm a little worried =p

But thinking back on what we had, the calories piled was worth it! Haha.. I discovered that the french love ducks alot (i'm loving duck confit now.. hee) and I never knew a simple pork belly dish could have so many layers of surprises - from the super crispy skin, to tender meat and soft fats! I'm truly impressed with the art of culinary, and look forward to more food surprises next time =)

Looking down at my tummy, i hope some dieting and exercise plans will start soon =p

Pretty little girls~

Chanced upon these photos of little girls on Facebook, and I immediately fell in love with their innocence~ I think they are twins, and they look so pretty!! Really so adorable, I feel like 打包-ing them home! Haha =p

"Wah....."
好开心啊!

Not sure if it's coz of good lighting, framing or camera.. But they are great pictures! Capturing the most candid and natural expressions on their pretty innocent faces =)

I think I have a soft spot for pretty little girls (but I'm not a paedophile =p).. And I secretly wish my daughter(s) in future can be just as cute! Haha..

Class 18/03.. 10th year anniversary!

Can't believe 10 years had passed.. In the blink of an eye~

Seng Huat very nicely organised this 10 year anniversary celebration/gathering for our class 2 weeks back, at costa sands sentosa.. We wanted to meet on 18 March (to coincide with our class number 18/03) but that was a Monday, so we met on 16 March saturday instead~ Haha.. It was my first time there, and it's not too bad, considering it's near siloso beach, but the room was quite small to fit all of us.. Attendance was ok too, we had half the class strength =)

But nevermind the room, we didn't stay there for long.. We preferred the BBQ area.. Haha.. We were updated with each others' lives, joked and laughed like how we did then in school.. Nothing much has changed, except for a few fine lines that slowly appeared on our faces? =p but glad everyone's doing well~~

Still must praise the guys who helped in organizing this gathering.. They ordered the BBQ food, desserts, started the bbq fire, made sure we had enough food... All we girls needed to do was to be present.. Hee after so many years, they are still so nice, the quiet but get things done kind of guys.. Haha.. Gd job~

I still cannot forget how they surprised us during prom night, they waited by the hall stairs (coz we girls were busy dolling ourselves up in the hotel room) and when we appeared, they each presented a stalk of rose to their 'paired' girl before we entered the dinner ball room.. So gentlemanly.. Haha.. Ok I digressed...

Anyways, we took lotsa pics that night too! Haha.. Did so many stupid poses.. Told you we still acted like kids =p

10 fingers mean 10 years!
This means 10 years too! Haha
It says 18/03.. Haha
Forming AJC!

The night ended with us strolling around siloso beach, and the crossing over to the little island via the floating bridge.. Haha! Like kids on excursion..

Very pretty starry night sky I remembered.. We sat down on the sand, continued reminiscing about the old and happy times~ Time and tide certainly waits for no man..

Kenneth will be getting married this September.. Congrats to him in advance! His wife-to-be used to be my cedar schoolmate.. Such a small world =)

Mummy and Daddy's birthday~

Celebrated daddy's birthday last week at Boon Tong Kee! And mummy's birthday few weeks back at Lenas at Nex.. I forgot to take pictures at mummy's birthday celebration.. My bad my bad... =p but we had a good meal trying out various fusion western dishes.. And prior to that treated mummy and daddy to a movie - ah boys to men.. Haha! We brought mummy to a jewellery shop to choose her gift too, after dinner =) a simple and nice pendant+necklace..

Fast forward to daddy's birthday.. Daddy preferred eating at this familiar joint, compared to fancy restaurants at shopping malls.. So we celebrated his birthday there, with a huge feast! =)

It's not our first time there, in fact I lost count.. Haha.. We used to head over there every now and then for a nice chicken rice dinner or celebrations/family gatherings, coz we used to stay just across the road.. But we still frequent the restaurant even though we've shifted, coz mummy and daddy still prefers simple but delicious Chinese food..

Dearest mummy and daddy
I forgot to take pictures of the food when it looked more appetising
Happy daddy~
Mummy was very happy cutting the cake for daddy too... Haha..
Happy daddy~

We got him an iPad mini.. Which is currently his best friend now~ maybe for a few more months to come too... haha.. Now everyone at home has an iPad except my mummy.. Haha! =P and I realized he has neglected his laptop, a birthday gift from us last year too.. Haha! 喜新厌旧了。。。

Happy birthday mummy and daddy!~ always very grateful to them for taking such good care of me (my bro and sis too) Here's wishing them lots of good health, happiness, joy, love, and of course good luck always! *hugs* 妈咪爸爸万岁。。。

Korea fantasy! (And abit of Hong Kong)

Finally, I travelled to Korea and back!!

Been wanting to visit Korea for quite some time and finally I had the chance.. A very impromptu and last minute decision to travel during the end of their winter, with less than a month to prepare all the necessary winter clothings and essentials.. Haha.. Wouldn't be possible if we hadn't booked a tour package, so we were spared the planning and research~ I guess if you are willing to pay, anything is possible.. Haha! =)

My last trip was in Dec to Taipei with my family, and I'm glad my bosses were ok to let me take another week long break in Feb for this trip =p

Nevertheless, I casted work aside and travelled to the land of Kimchi! Honestly I didn't really feel very excited on the day we were supposed to depart (perhaps due to the rush and some urgent work stuff prior the trip), until I boarded the plane, and reality set in.. Hahaha.. Delayed anticipation and excitement, but better late than never!~

So we jetted off, in Cathay to HK, then to Incheon, then jeju.. Haha! In summary we took 6 flights in our 9-day trip (7 days Korea, 2 days HK) =p it's as if we were taking trains and buses.. Haha.. What's more, there's in flight entertainment and food!!! =) gone were the days where we had to buy a loaf of bread to bring up the budget plane just in case we're hungry, or fill up a bottle of water at the waiting gate coz beverages on board were too expensive.. Haha.. Shiok!!

There's nothing I would complain about the trip except for the rush and tight schedule, but I expected it.. Haha.. There are always trade offs~ in short, it was a very enjoyable trip, with a wonderful weather... My body can't really take extreme temperatures well, so falling sick was expected =p but who cares when I'm on a trip.. Carry on! Haha..

Here are some of my favourite pictures from my phone =)

Jetting off!

Sunrise peak at Jeju!

So windy.. View is so nice!!
Teddy bear museum!

Having fun at Ocean Park Hong Kong!

Things I love about my Korea trip..

1) Beautiful and breath-taking scenery at Jeju, Seoul as well.. So much greens, rock formations, waterfalls, mountains..very pretty!

2) I still love kimchi very much even though we had it during almost every meal.. I made kimchi too!

3) I skied for the first time! First time being surrounded by so much snow!! Made our first snowmen..

4) The chilly weather, that made me sick.. But still very happy.. Hahaha.. I love cold cold countries!

5) I visited teddy bear museum (such a happy place) bought a lovely stuffed bear which sleeps with me every night! =)

6) Went to a theme park that's so colourful, pretty, sat on a chairlift and enjoyed the chilly winds that brushed against my face =p we did sleigh rides down the snow slopes!!

7) Wore Hanbok and tried posing like traditional Koreans..

8) Climbed to the peak (almost) of mt sorak and took so many pictures of the magnificent view

9) Rented swimming costume at a Sea Lala (their water spa and theme park) and played with water during a holiday trip =p we were very unprepared.. Haha

10) Being overwhelmed by countless blocks of shopping malls at dong dae mun, myeong dong and nam dae mun.. Facial products were cheap and good!! Happy~~

11) Suppering every night even though we were tired.. Not bothered by the calories piled too.. Haha

12) Took so many, like 2000+ combined pictures during this trip, just to remember the wonderful times and memories!

13) There are just too many things I love and enjoyed during the short 7 days in Korea! I am still missing korea =p But thankfully I had the best company I could ever ask for~ =)

Unforgettable and memorable time at Korea!!

5th year anniversary~

Is on valentine's day too.. Haha

Seems like yesterday we were still in school, attending tutorials and lectures, dining around canteens in school, walking to and fro the long walkways.. With a blink of an eye, it's been 5 years since Mr Koh and I got together~ We were so young then!

Not saying we are old =p but we have grown much older, hopefully wiser and mature, slowly gaining more life experiences together~

This year's celebration is simple, at the usual shopping mall we frequently patronise.. We had dinner at Thai Accent at vivocity =) Mr Koh had been raving about the delicious chilli lime sea bass, so we definitely had to try it! Being a Thai food lover, I certainly had no qualms about having that.. Haha

Me with the famous fish!

My valentine

Our anniversary feast!

Do not belittle what you see above.. This meal costs quite abit.. Haha

Mr Koh was presented his first gift - leather coin pouch, after dinner.. He has quite a few presents every year.. Haha..
