Bye bye 2009

X'mas had just passed.. and I had a great xmas eve KTV with wonderful pals and a heart-warming party at home on xmas day.. not exactly a party, but I had fun doing grocery shopping with my family, preparing and feasting for the whole day! =) I like to slack around at home, whipping up something for my loved ones to savour.. haha.. A season of joy and warmth................

I also had the chance to meet up with my JC classmates on boxing day.. It seems that everyone has grown up and matured over the years.. Each of us have different pathways in life, but I'm glad ours did cross and I had one of the best schooling days with my 18/03 classmates, right at the heart of AMK (the cosy little anderson junior college)... Memories are still so vivid and it really seemed like yesterday I was queueing up for the hokkien mee (the uncle perspires alot, and I can still rem how he looks) in the canteen.. haha! I loved to jog round the track, played soccer with the class after PE, sometimes captains ball too.. =) Honestly, I miss the lectures and tutorials... Now I truly understand why adults like to remind the young to enjoy school.. seriously, school is the place you forge the strongest and the most endearing friendships you can ever have in life.......... Now, I sound melancholic... =P

I look forward to our class meet ups once or twice a year~ I forsee myself attending some of their weddings in the near future.. HAHA! whenever we gather, I always imagine ourselves in sch uniform, talking crap all the time.. haha.. Luckily, I took lots of pictures when I was in JC.. these pictures are priceless now~ I'm gg to show them to my kids next time, and let them know how notorious and playful I was when I'm schooling.. hahahah..

All the year end gatherings and meet ups slowly led to the end of 2009.... and it also signals the coming of a brand new year..

2010 sounds like an auspicious year to me.. and I hope it's truly a fantastic year for all =) haha.. As we countdown to the end of 2009, let's give ourselves a pat on our backs for all the hard work during the year, thank your loved ones who have been by your side, supporting you all the time.. Smile and embrace the new year ahead!

2010 will be better year for all! Jiayou~

Till then.............. await my next post in 2010! *fireworks*

Xmas Party with COKTY+

Had a xmas dinner with COKTY+ over at 313's marche a week before xmas =) haha... and we had gift exchange.. received an sms from santa (Mr Koh, that is), that we are gg to exchange gifts amongst ourselves.. and each of us is supposed to buy gifts of a certain colour..

Mine's blue, while Mr Koh's yellow.. can you see my nicely wrapped gift? haha.. I have lousy wrapping skills! it's proven and well known =P

Posed with my blue gift!

And it's time to munch munch munch~~~

Fooling ard before foodies arrived!

Benny and Jasmine/Pin han distributing their gifts to us from HK and BKK respectively..

Yeah! first up............. scrumptious PIZZA!

Yummy~~~

And they went in search of more food.... haha..

Wide selection of fresh meat and greens... it was a beautiful sight.. haha! whetted my appetite instantly..

And this point while blogging... something disastrous happened! I was unable to upload all the nice pictures to narrate the day's event.. Blogger really got onto my nerves.. for the past few days.. in fact more than a week, I've been having problems uploading pictures........................ BOO! and since the year is ending, I desperately want to end of with my all xmas posts.. haha.. I shall do them all in text (without pictures), until I get the problem solved... HAHA!

Ok, back to the xmas gathering with COKTY+ (without pictures ......)

After food, we exchanged presents by drawing lots.. haha.. and lucky Jasmine got my blue present, while Pin Han got Mr Koh's yellow gift.. It was a joyous occassion, with great food and fantastic company.. It was hilarious~ Coz Mr Koh and my gifts were ridiculously funny, the whole gang burst into laughter when opening the presents.. and it of coz attracted alot of curious stares! haha... But then again, it's xmas~ chill!

The night was still young when we departed marche, and hence we went adjourned to orchard central's gelare for some drinks to chat the night away... haha.. We played with monopoly deal cards that Weiting brought as well, and Benny and Jingyi (the blackhorses) emerged victorious at the end of the night.. haha.. though Mr Koh and I didnt win any of the few games, it was fun (and tiring).. haha..

Makes me wanna buy a deck myself too...

We parted around midnight.. while Mr Koh and I continued our ride along Orchard Road to enjoy the beautiful and eye-catching xmas deco... on dearest kino (Mr Koh's fino)~ hahaha...
Stay tuned.. for more xmas episodes....... while i get the uploading of pictures thing fixed.. =P

Happy Birthday Fanny~ and an early X'mas dinner =)

Met up with the girls last Friday to celebrate Fanny's Birthday at Bliss cafe, at Punggol Park.... Punggol Park is no stranger to me.. Been jogging there since I was 15? haha... and I still go there to jog..

However, dining at Bliss Cafe is pretty new to me.. It was my second time there.. haha.. We had good food and drinks there.. while chatting the night away~

The high class ladies sipped ice wine and it was pretty nice sitting by the pond (no stench at all~) haha.. There were occassional cool breeze blowing at my face and it was lovely!

Mr Koh, Angie and Zhi Yuan....

We started exchanging gifts after food...

Angie got a gift for Aijia... A beautiful scrapbook making set! =)

And what did I get for Angie? haha.. something long and very hard to wrap... =P

Tadah! A yoga mat~ Which was secretly hiding below the table.. haha...

Finally, it was my turn to receive my Hello Kitty 2010 planner from Fanny! =) Yippeee.....

And Fanny got her bag of make-up from Aijia.. haha...

It was double celebration that night as we gathered to celebrate X'mas as well as Fanny's birthday... which means she got 2 gifts that night! haha...

We got her a white jacket from Joop! Hope she likes it~

That's Fanny posing with her beau~ with an ultra big wine glass.. hahaha.. that's an illusion~

We ended the night with a toast to friendship, happiness and of course, a wonderful X'mas! =)

I duno why, but I can't stop laughing when I see Zhi Yuan's expression.. haha...

*CHEERS*

Happy Birthday Fanny~ and we are soon coming to the end of 2009..........
P.S: My brother and Fanny share the same birthday... haha! So, Happy Birthday to my brother once again~ =)

Funny Knife

Anyone fancy a funny knife?

It tickles (pun intended) all meat that it comes into contact with.. haha... making sure your meat is tender enough~ =P

X'mas Shopping!

Was at vivo last week for some X'mas shopping.. haha.. and it was packed with people.. I think it must be due to Zoukout (happening later that night at Sentosa), as I could see alot of pretty people dressed to the nines.. haha.. girls wearing bikinis beneath their translucent top.. I've never been to any Zoukout, but I could roughly imagine how it would be like... =P

Outdoor clubbing ya? with lots of topless men and sexy women..

Ok, back to the shopping.... we went to the rooftop, and behold.. The IR is about done! Some reservations about the theme and overall outlook though.. hmm... stark constrast when compared with the Marina Bay IR....

Looks like a row of castles from far? haha..

Proudly displaying what I got from Daiso... Some fragrance oil with bamboo sticks (satay sticks).. the sticks are supposed to be dipped into the bottle, and hence 'sucking' the oil into the sticks.. dispersing the aroma into the air.. Ok, worth it~

After so long, kids still love the rooftop pool at vivo =) reminds me of the days where lil Jiaxin was happily playing in the pool... haha! she has upgraded recently, prefers swimming in swimming complexes now.. haha..

X,mas tree went up as well~

Rewarding our hungry stomachs after a long walk... at Asian Kitchen!

Forlorn look... haha.. i prefer ding tai fung's pork chop rice leh~

Continued shopping after dinner...

Rested our weary legs at a secluded Starbucks (which I never knew exisited.. haha! maybe I wasnt observant enough)

What a nice way to end my Saturday night~ Sipping ice-cold Java Chip, while some slowly made their to start their night at Zoukout...........

Have you done your X'mas shopping yet? =) Don't be lazy, time to head out to town! hahaha...

Weili's Birthday!

We gathered at PS cafe at Dempsy to celebrate Weili's birthday =) Pretty nice restaurant, but I couldnt say the same for the service... Other than that, it's a pretty enjoyable dinner... haha... Though food was a lil pricey... =P

Nevertheless, we ordered quite a few dishes to share... haha..

The ladies~

The pork ribs which I had...

A group shot of the ladies clad in black... haha..

After a hearty dinner at PS cafe, we slowly made our way to the ever colourful and happy place - Ben and Jerry's...

And we ordered merry merlionster, which costs a whopping $30 plus bucks...

You get 6 scoops of delicious ice-cream, with lotsa choc fudge, brownies, banana slices and rainbow sprinkles...

Look at how we attacked the ice-cream... haha..

Let me just end off with Shiyou's trademark 'buddha palm'........ hahaha...

*boomz*

Jurong Bird Park

After 15 (or so) long years, I've finally stepped foot into Jurong Bird Park again~ hahaha... Been wanting to go there since long long ago, but due to the exorbitantly-priced ticket, I've put off the idea quite a few times..

But thankfully, through sheer luck, I've managed to get hold of the corporate pass to Jurong Bird Park! YEAH~~ =) What a wonderful month.. haha... December is a month of joy and alot alot of events.. hee! We woke up early on Saturday, and made our way to the western side of Singapore.. Very excited as I virtually had no idea how the Bird Park looked like.. haha... Had nv seen any pictures of the park before, and I can only imagine... We dashed straight to the amphitheatre pool after entering the park, for the bird show as we were informed that a show was about to start...

Not alot of people... maybe coz it was still early.. visitors are still slowly streaming into the park =)

See the trainer and the owl in action.. haha..

Posing with the parrots! Amazing... these parrots are actually free to roam, but I think they like it here.. so they don't see the need to fly away.. haha! imagine, you get food, fame, a home and loved ones all ard.. FOC! no predators at all...
which bird would want to leave? =P

Weiting and Huixian who accompanied us that day~ =)

Beautiful Flamingos standing on 1 leg only.. haha... sturdy legs.. so thin yet so strong.. =P

One of the weird looking birds at the park.. Realised these big and colourful birds with thin legs tend to stay stationary and eyes fixated for a very long time... Don't know what they are thinking abt.. haha! while the smaller birds are more active and have a shorter attention span =P

Nice~ I like the vivid colours...

We continued the walk and saw more kinds of birds along the way...

Birds on water!! hahaha... I love these 'ducks' hee.... They looked so normal and calm above water (graceful infact), but their webbed feets were flapping below water so vigorously, it's amusing.. hahaha... CUTE!

Pelicans~ =) So many of them gathered in one area... haha..

A statue of a green pelican clasping a fish using its beak (or mouth?).. you get what I mean.. haha! I want a bite too............

Continued the trek and we reached the world of parrots!

We actually fed this blue-eyed parrot a leaf from the bushes near the cage.. haha! I hope it's not poisoned or something... =P

Weiting has his own way of communicating with the feathered animals.. haha..

and we walked along...

To the land of AFRICA....

harrassing her hand..

starring lovingly into his eyes.. GAY! haha...

And we visited the world's largest MAN-MADE waterfall... hahaha! It's true... they proudly proclaim~ I've seen this statement around the park quite a few times.. Ok, it' quite nice lah.. haha!

Posing with the waterfall.......

Picturesque!

Posed with the entrance of a bridge leading to another side of the African village..

The whole place is netted, but birds are free to roam in this big big area... Birds found here are smaller than those we saw earlier, but still as colourful.. Guess that's the reason why they need to net the whole aviary, birds here are more precious and rare?

Placed a piece of bread on my palm, but none of the birds were enticed =P

They prefer to eat from plates.. haha.. how civilised =P

And it started to drizzle, then poured... Weiting brought his monopoly card game.. and we had a good time learning how to play the game.. I'm itching for another game now.. haha!

The rained stopped soon~ and we hurriedly carried on with our walk...........

Mr snail comes out after the rain.. I had a good time fiddling with it's ultra sensitive feelers... =P I don't know what you call that.. but ya, it's the two long things in front of the head... haha!

Playing with the recorded 'emu' sounds at the emu area.. They look abit like ostriches.. haha!

right? Abit wet after being in the rain.. haha...

Proceeded to the mini 'Chicken Muesum'... to soak in the air con too.. haha..

We exited the air-con museum and continued walking to another observatory~

It's feeding time... and they birds here are so pretty! =)

Ostriches~~~

Trying to find Mr Eagle.....

How handsome~

We entered another observatory, but this is bigger... haha.. and by then, we could see dark clouds looming..

Stoopid AM, spoil our picture =P

Nice bird! =)

We hurriedly left the observatory and continued the walk, praying that the rain won't fall... haha... It was fast and furious...

It started to drizzle, but we couldn't find any nice and cosy shelter anywhere near us... hahaha... In the end, the raining started falling, and we were 'romantically' stuck in the shelter at the peacock-look-alike den... haha... We sat at the benches for a good 1 hr plus, and it wasnt the best shelter in the park... =P We got sprinkled by rainwater every now and then.. haha..

This was the view we saw for more than 1 hr.. haha.. it was memorable!

We ran to the next shelter available, when the rain got smaller... and found a red bird paradise shelter.. HAHA!

This place was better~ We had more space to roam.. haha!

and observe the red birds...

Rain finally stopped! and we went for the last animal show and the same venue again.. haha...

Father, son and ah ma.. haha... all decked in green! =)

The eagle had this vv cocky look.. haha... hao lian~ =P

Finally, we went to the land of pengiuns =) and it was freezing cold.. goodness!

*brr*

Swimming around happily~ haha..

Call me Captain Lim!

If I'm not wrong, male penguins are yellow at the side of the head, while the female counterparts are just black and white.. no tint of yellow by the side.. haha... pls correct me if I'm wrong =P

With that, I conclude our exciting and eventful day at the Bird Park~ Definitely enjoyable and wet =P haha.... Duno when I'll be back there again... maybe with my kids next time? HAHA.. or when I have free tickets again =)

Bye bye bird birds.... See you all again! =)
