Do you remember the Lovegety Days?

HAha! It's been a long time.. Lovegety cards used to be so common back in my growing up years.. Changing $6/8 gold coins just to take a shot at the Lovegety Machines.. Favourite haunts used to be at The Heerens.. HAha! Remember? I used to frequent machines at J8, Bugis Junction too.. Those were the days.. Now, the sticker versions are becoming more popular though..
Today, Ah qi suggested taking Lovegety cards again.. HAha.. After shopping around the very crowded Plaza Singapura, we went to Bugis, with Aunt Beh, Jonas (My very young cousin), and Jonas' Mum =) HAha...

We went to this shop at level 3 or 4, I'm not very sure.. HAha! specially set up for lovegety lovers... hee!

So the 5 of us, went inside the machine.. Not knowing where to look at, the older adults and Jonas, started staring into the screen that showed our faces.. In fact they should be looking at the camera lens.. HAha! And it was when the pictures were taken that I realized Aunt Beh, Jonas and Jonas' Mum were not looking into the lens.. Too late le.. But it's ok, first timers ma.. hee! But we had fun...

So being the pro.. Ah qi and I flashed the loveliest smiles in both pics.. hee! After some decorating (done by me coz we had to be fast coz of the time limit, I let Jonas do the choosing of items to be added).. HAha! After a few moments, the cards came out loh...

Tadah! Cute............... HAha... I mean Aunt Beh, Jonas and his mum =P They are all looking away.. Hee!

Lovely Angie gave me this set of magnetic bookmarks last week.. Cute ba! HAha.. Hello Kitty again.. =) It has prints on both sides...

The front
The back
HAha........... Just nice.. Coz I have a few books on hand now.. Hee............

Fish & Co. @ AMK Hub...

Went over to AMK Hub with Ah Qi and Aunt Beh earlier this evening =) Ah Qi has been craving for their Fish and Chips for ages.. So, Aunt Beh decided to bring us here.. She just came back from her China Trip.. Leaving lil JiaXin and her mum there.. HAha.. they will be coming back in 3 weeks time.. I can see that Aunt Beh misses lil JiaXin alot.. HAha..

So.. After meeting Aunt Beh at 630.. We proceeded to Fish & Co. straight away.. Thinking that we should make a reservation coz it's friday, we hurriedly made our way there... I walked to the entrance and this filipino waitress came over and assisted me.. After enquiring about making reservations, she told me that no reservations can be made after 630pm.. (Aww...) So, Aunt Beh and I loitered around the area.. waiting for our dear ah qi to arrive.. Aunt Beh went to the ladies while i shopped around.. After her toilet trip, we were shocked to see a queue forming outside Fish & Co.! Aiyoyo.... We just left Fish & Co. like 5 minutes ago, and a queue started to form mercilessly.. HAha! Without hesistation.. The kiasu us felt that we should queue right away.. HAha! Heng loh... If we had gone shopping and waited for ah qi to come.. We might have to go Level 3 food court and eat liao... hee!

So... We were brought to our table after waiting for around 5-10 mins.. Pretty fast! We got a good table by the window.. Panoramic (I'm kidding) view! HAha... Pleasant view of the road.. Can see cars/bus/motors rushing home or out for dinner...
We ordered our food.. When ah qi was still on her way.. Coz being a very good sister, I noe ah qi wants the normal fish & chips.. Haha.. Aunt beh ordered the same, while I ordered the New York fish and chips.. what's the difference? Added cheesey sauce which enhanced the overall taste of the fish.. Not too bad =)
Fooling ard with the drinks =P (My housefly head) Ah qi take de.... What an angle.. HAha!
Aunt Beh and Ah Qi..

Ah Qi and her fish and chips...

My New York Fish and Chips!

A word of advice.. Eat it fast, the New York fish and chips doesnt taste as nice when it's cold.. The cheesy taste will be a lil overwhelming then.. HAha!

The thing I love most about Fish and Co is that, they will alwiz give customers some mints after their meal.. And I've been looking around for this brand of chewy mints around supermarkets.. But havent been able to find them.. Guess that's what makes them special.. with their special mints.. HAha!

Went shopping ard.. Aunt Beh bought me a top for work (tho I havent got one yet) and I got myself a bottle of nail polish (very natural and clean colour) =) HAPPY!

Bumped into seetoh at NTUC.. with her mum.. HAha! Let out a very shocked and silly shriek when I saw her coming towards me.. Vv malu =P Seetoh if you are reading this, your mum looks young loh.. Slim oso.. HAha! And I'm so sorry if I've scared her with my silly antics..

My Friday night ended... time to go home.. BUT! another thing caught my eye at the news stand... HEe! Hello Kitty EZ Link card sticker.. Please... It's Hello Kitty loh... HAha! so very cute..... Just buy first.. Hee! Will start using the normal card on 1st july le... No more NTU EZ Link card................ =P

New Banner!

As you can see... after being too free at home, I've decided to add something to my once simple and boring banner (which is nothing).. HAha! After ransacking my folders of pictures, I found something which is not vv realistic.. vv cartoonish.. HAha! But something I like alot alot.. hee! Le sportsac's Tokidoki..

Tokidoki (sometimes in Japanese) is the Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand created in 2005 by Italian artist Simone Legno and his business partners Pooneh Mohajer and Ivan Arnold. Tokidoki produces apparel and other products using art and iconic characters designed by Simone Legno.
-- (Wikipedia)

So.. Close friends would know that I adore Le Sportsac's Tokidoki.. Haha! I have alot of the heaven-themed bags.. A pencil case(pouch), mini bag, and a big picnic bag.. =)
So there u go.. This shall remain as my banner until I find something nicer to replace it.. HAha!

In search of 老黄肉骨茶!

Few years back, the Lim family resided in a 4-room flat at Towner Road (Near Boon Keng MRT station).. The 肉骨茶 stall opp the road used to be their favourite.. Usual weekend haunt! The stall had a lovely name.. It was affectionately known as 老黄肉骨茶~ HAha... It was a lovey dovey relationship.. One couldnt do without the other.. Awww....

Suddenly, 老黄肉骨茶 disappeared one fine day.. Without a sound, it MIA!! No call, no notice, no nothing... It was heart wrenching.. And we suffered from serious withdrawal symptoms.. Life without delicious 肉骨茶 was difficult.. No amount of chicken rice, char siew rice, fishball noodles can ever replace 老黄肉骨茶in our heart.. HAha! It was that bad.. Life was stale and boring for the next year.. The Lim family never gave up hope.. Having faith that one day, 老黄肉骨茶 would return to our embrace once again..

Soon.. after a year of endless searching, Lim family found another new love.. Another 肉骨茶 stall captured our hearts.. With its delicious mei cai, Pigs trotters (black), 肉骨茶 soup (clear), you tiao! My goodness.. It was love at first sight.. It was like having an affiar with this new stall at kelantan Lane (somewhere sim lim square).. While still thinking about 老黄肉骨茶, we still went ahead to patronize this new stall.. Early morning rendezvous was exciting! HAha...

Life was just as wonderful.. even without 老黄肉骨茶... This new stall had replaced 老黄肉骨茶, in our hearts.. Totally... It was only recently, we saw 老黄肉骨茶! They've shifted to somewhere near Golden Mile... HAha! It was like meeting an old lover.. We were full of anticipation.. Eager to see how 老黄肉骨茶 has been doing so far.. We ordered the usual.. And was disappointed........

Gone were the days where 老黄肉骨茶 used to top our 肉骨茶 chart's ranking... Sad to say, it tasted (the feeling/passion) is different... *sobz* 老黄肉骨茶 pales in comparison to the one at Kelantan Lane 肉骨茶......... We've found our soulmate *fireworks*... HAha!

The Lim family sincerely wish 老黄肉骨茶 all the best in whatever it does... And let's welcome our new love! Kelantan Lane 肉骨茶 =)

HAha... Such crappy 肉骨茶 love story.. Not easy k =P

Science Centre Trip + Korean Food!...

Visited the Science Centre on Saturday afternoon with Mr Koh... Impromptu decision to go.. HAha.. tho we've mentioned about going there one day a long time ago.. HAha!

There's this new water-themed playground.. Kids were having so much fun loh! should bring lil Jiaxin there one day.. She loves playing with water.. =)

We bought tix to watch a 40 mins Grand Canyon Documentary at the Omni-Theatre.. We got tix for the 6pm show =) So, we went around the Science Centre.. I seriously don't remember much about Science Centre, and the faintest memory I had of the centre was the excursion trip to the omni theatre when I was in Primary School... HAha! that was like a decade ago.. Now, Science Centre has evolved into a fun place for both the young and old..

Our tix! =)

So, being the Suagu... Mr Koh (the tourguide) brought me (the vv suagu visitor) around and I went around playing with the different educational 'stations' in the mini park near the entrance =) Each station has an object/equipment that can perform MAGIC!.. HAha.. For example, you can weigh urself, just by using just a simple plank with markings on it, and a weight.. Balancing law.. =)

Please don't scrutinize... HAha...

There was another amazing object which totally amazed me.. There is this satalite look-a-like dish that made use correct/accurate positioning, to transmit sound waves to another similar dish which is situated like ard 20 metres away.. I wanted to fiddle with it longer de, but I reckoned I should behave my age and let the kids play instead.. hee!

Wow! The power of science and physics...

I guess I'm so easily amused coz I think I often overlook such simple science in life.. I'm too reliant on IT.. HAha... Have u actually forgotten that you can tell the time simply by using the Sundial? Just by using the Sun... =)

After an hour of loitering around.. The kiasu us.. or rather me.. went to queue to get into the theatre half an hour before the show started.. =P I wanted to get the best seats ma...

When it was time to go inside the theatre, I saw this vv familiar-looking usher..... Guess what! He was my JC schoolmate FIRDOUS.. He recognized me! HAha.. Felicia, Yes! I'm refering to him.. HAha! He looks still as good as before, maybe better.. Your ma lai flame.. hee..................

Inside the theatre...

The show was nice.. showed magnificent scenery.. But hor, I came out feeling vv giddy.. hee! coz I had to roll my eyeballs 360 degrees.. coz the screen is soooo wide and big! my big head feels vv heavy after the show loh.. I'm still giddy now.. HAha!

I tell ya, we're one of the oldest kids in the theatre, if not we're the youngest adults =P
A picture of us inside the theatre... tho photography is not allowed.. HAha!

A few pictures taken after the show ended.. this is a martian alien I think... Looks hideous!

And this classic picture... I had to cover it.. Modesty please........... =P HAha...

After the show.. The Science Centre started to look empty as it closes at 6.. families started leaving one by one.. Tho the theatre closes a lil later..

Parting shot.. before we headed out for dinner =) Hungry loh!

Ah Qi told me there's this lil korea town near Upper Bukit Timah.. As featured in the newpaper.. Being a fan of korean food.. We went treasure hunting!

Initially we went to another featured korean bbq restaurant opposite beauty world centre, but found out that it wasnt the restaurant that I was looking for.. The one I wanted to go was a korean food stall called Ming Jia, opened by a native korean.. The full address wasnt given, and the only info we had was that it was inside Bukit Timah Plaza..

Finally! We found the place.......... after searching high and low.. It was quite hidden actually, not prominent at all.. I wondered how it survived.. HAha! It was empty when we reached.. It made me wonder if the food tasted good enough..
The korean chef at work.. With the local mother-in-law (in pink) ? HAha...

I was very happy!....
I ordered my kimchi soup ($5.50), while he ordered a meat dish with veg and chicken ($4.50)Poor Mr koh, was forced to eat korean coz of me.. HAha!

My kimchi is pipping hot de k!! =)

The amusing thing was, the moment we made our orders, people started coming in.. and within 5 mins, the shop was packed! The shop owners should give me their VIP card, I think I bring good luck to them loh.. HAha!

The food was good! considering the fact that price was reasonable.. portion was sufficient.. I like my kimchi soup and ikan bilis.. Fragrant.. hee! tho the rice they used was the normal thai rice (minus points)..

I'm satisfied! I love Kimchi =) And Thank you Mr Koh, for walking ard aimlessly with me while searching for Ming Jia.. Hee!

A simple dinner..

Was feeling pretty low and moody this whole day, maybe for the past few days.. I guess it's self inflicted worry and pressure about getting a job.. For something I just can't stop wondering and worrying.. It's definitely not PMS coz I'm never a victim of it =P

I feel so much better after receiving some sincere advice and encouragement from people around me.. Thank you! I'm deeply touched and grateful...

This post is getting way too emotional.. I don't like it wor =P

__________________________________________________

Met up with Fanny and Aijia for dinner at Taka's Ajisen =) Their familiar faces lit up my day immediately.. HAha! Suddenly, I forgot about worrying.. =P

This is my first time at Ajisen.. Yes, vv out-dated me.. HAha! Despite passing by Ajisen outlets like for countless of times, I nv once stepped into one... So... We went straight to Ajisen and made our orders..
I ordered the Ajisen Ramen.. And Fanny ordered some Spicy Seafood Ramen =)

While Aijia ordered the Kimchi Octopus Ramen.. Food arrived shortly and I had to take pictures before we started gobbling down our food... HAha.. First time ma... =)

After dinner, we strolled around.. Did a lil window shopping.. Then sat along the pathway outside Wisma.. Outside some loft-themed bar, while people-watching.. Relaxing coz the bar provided 'free' music from some live band.. HAha! Cheap thrill =)

So we girls talked and talked for 2 hours I think......... Maybe even longer.. HAha! Just the 3 of us.. Topics revolved around work, relationships, family... Suddenly it just feels different.. I'm feeling so much of it nowadays.. Not that I'm ignorant of such issues in the past.. It's just that these issues have become so inevitable, so evident =P Gone were the days where we girls can so happily indulge in shopping, eating and playing.. School life and grades were like our only worries..

I love talking to my girl friends.. They bring a smile to my face... so effortlessly.....
*hugz*

Yeah! I've conquered Pulau Ubin

I woke up early on a sunny Thursday morning, ard 9am.. Totally excited about my Pulau Ubin trip... HAha! Virgin trip leh.. Haven been there before, but have already heard so much stories about it loh.. HAha.............. If I remembered correctly, Pulau Ubin was set as the filming venue for 'Good Morning Teacher' Zao an lao shi.. A channel 8 drama starring Chen Liping (Affectionately known as Ayoyo lao shi).. Correct me if I'm wrong..

Went over to Changi Village for my breakfast with Mr Koh, before meeting Changyan and Huimei.. I had Chwee Kueh =) but the cai po tasted a lil sour leh.. But still nice.. HAha!

Then Mr Koh and I proceeded to the jetty.. Applying sun block furiously, while waiting for Changyan and Huimei.. hee!
why that face? I don't know.. HAha!

Then off we went... We boarded the boat.. and we're on our way to Pulau Ubin loh! The boat ride was short but enjoyable.. Enjoyed having the sea breeze sweep past my face, while taking pics... I secretly took a few pics of the cute boy boy I saw on board...
The first few shots on the island: Welcome to Pulau Ubin............

With huimei

We rented bicycles for $6/day at some nearby bicycle shop.. cheap!
We then started our journey.. The journey started with us riding leisurely on some normal flat roads.. Then horror began.. I was greeted by some slopy/rocky/pebble-by paths that made my butt hurt like duno wat.. HAha! The ride was jerky and challenging loh... I had to brake so much while going downslope.. HAha! It was sucha feat I tell ya.. for me lah.. HAha! The brakes were ny bestest pals there.. Imagine cycling at Mac-Ritchie.. not the usual flat roads.. But the jungle-like area (the usual x-country route)... HAha!
I can almost picture myself tumbling down the slope can.. With a few scars on my face, maybe a broken tooth.. =P I'm such a sadist..
So, I was so glad that we get to stop over at some area.. We parked our bikes.. And started trekking along the boardwalk.. Too bad it was high tide then.. Mr Koh said that lil crabs could be spotted if the tide was low enough.. Well, timing wasnt right.. But we still cam whored under the scorching sun.. having fun! =)

We continued cycling.. Haiz! I prefered to walk at slopes.. all the time.. And I was alwiz the slowest.. The one making the most noise, full of shouts and screams.. brought too much noise pollution to the serene Pulau Ubin.. HAha!

Some occasional stop-over..

I'm tanner le wor... I must start my whitening regime soon.. =P

We continued cycling and then came to this restricted area.. We entered through this broken wired fence, and sneaked our way in.. HAha! which eventually led us to this lake... Beautiful scenery!

There, the girls were busying 'wading' in the shallow waters, while the boys were busy playing with 'jumping stones'.. My highest record: 2 jumps.. Mr Koh's: 7 times.. =P

Post-card worthy view......

We continued our journey... And came to some stop again.. HAha!

Yes! It was very hot.. We were practically cooked/baked under the blazing sun... Luckily I got my cap with me.. hee.......We saw a fat fat and very ugly monitor lizard too... Very disgusting.. HAha! Very big..

We rested at some hut/drinks stall.. and savoured the ice cold fresh sweet coconut.... Heaven! =) haha..........

Feeling recharged, we carried on... And came to this Secret Garden of Pulau Ubin.. Looks commercialized compared to the other parts of the island... But still, it has its own appeal... =)

Huimei posing with the well...

And Changyan with the Kang Kong.. HAha!

Posing at the entrance =)

After all that.. We're all tired and hungry! All set to go home loh... Back to Changi Village... =)

We are afraid of the paparazzi............. =P

That itchy hand...
Go home loh! =) tired tired.... black black.. But happy happy..................
