So she visted the AMK library with Mr Koh one fine day.. Drowned herself with tonnes of books! HAha.. She went to the general section, to browse some of the non-fiction/self improvement books.. Coz that's what she likes..
She picked 3 books randomly.. and went down to the cafe to spend the lazy afternoon on a comfy couch, while sipping some ice-cold beverage =)
So, the books she borrowed were as follows:
1)Who moved my cheese?
Nice book which reveals profound truths.. Well, the author used a very simple story about 4 characters living in a maze looking for cheese.. Cheese in this case is used as a metaphor for what people want to have in life.. Whereas the maze is the environment (work, school, family).. Though short and simple, this book offered WeiShi unique and useful insights that can last for a lifetime..There's this one sentence which made WeiShi ponder real hard: The biggest inhibitor to change lies within yourslef, and that nothing gets better until you change..
People are always reminded to change and to adapt to new environments.. Yes, we all know change is essential, it's constant.. But how many actually have the courage to change? WeiShi feels that people might think that they have changed, but in fact, most are still pretty much bounded by their own fears and insecurities in life.. (Yes, WeiShi is feeling guilty).
2) Nasty men
WeiShi don't know why she borrowed this book.. Hee! Maybe the bold pink cover attracted her attention.. And the title made her interested.. HAha! Well well.. This book, pretty pessimistic, teaches you how to deal with nasty men in your life.. At first, it looks interesting to her.. But after reading a few chapters, she began to lose interest =P Such a pessimistic book.. Introduced so many diff kinds of nasty men in this world.. Tsk Tsk! Good thing is, WeiShi is surrounded by good men....... =) So, she doesnt like this book........ HAha!3) Girls Seeks Bliss
HAha.. this book arh.. She's still reading it.. refreshingly light and interesting without preaching.. HAha.. It basically introduces Zen and the art of modern life maintenance.. The author is pretty funny and approaches the topic in a casual and honest manner.. amazingly humourous in a way.. Hee! She enjoyed it.. not too bad tho!So... These are the books which WeiShi borrowed, to enrich and occupy her free time at home.. =) Do go visit the library if you have the time.. It's a treasure trove filled with knowledge wor.. HAha!
