Hong Kong Trip - Day 2

We woke up really early on Day 2… Still recovering from the exhaustion on Day 1, but we could barely contain our excitement and anticipation for what’s planned ahead.. haha!
We were told to gather at the hotel lobby at 7.15am, as the coach will be waiting to bring us to the various attractions as stated in the itinerary.. =) Our trip is not totally free and easy, semi I would say.. and I’m glad we had this half day city tour in the itinerary as it did bring us some convenience! Haha.. and of course having a tour guide telling us stories and histories of the attraction made the trip more interesting and enjoyable..

Ok, back to the day………

We were punctual, early in fact.. and hopped on the coach… we were the first family on board the coach, and we proceeded to other hotels to pick some other families up.. The pig in me fell asleep immediately.. I will doze off anywhere as long as I’m motionless for 5 mins.. I have a very short attention span.. haha..

The view of a normal market in the heartlands.. shops are starting to open~  I was on the coach then, hence the blurred image..

We went for a nice breakfast at this local Dim Sum restaurant.. but I can see that their dim sum is pretty mass made.. and it doesn’t taste as good as it should (since I’m in Hong Kong, and dim sum originates there)

well, it looks like a wedding dinner to me.. with the decor and the cake on the stage.. HAHA!

Yummylicious Siew Mai

Posing with the BBoss night club outside the restaurant.. apparently vv famous over there.. haha..

After a hearty breakfast, we went back on the coach and the tour guide brought us around to Stanley and Repluse Bay Beach.. They are basically places for the rich and famous.. the tour guide brought us past various famous celebrities' houses.. and it was bascially a story telling session on the coach.. haha.. oh ya, I saw Jacky Chan's house too... it was on a hill~ wow!

This was taken in the coach, thus the blur pic.. but the view was beautiful! it was overlooking Repulse Bay Beach~ =)

Anyway, the coach dropped us at the Repulse Bay Beach for some sightseeing and picture-taking =)

Posing with Yue Lao! =)

I've seen this beach on TV on a few occassions... and it was really beautiful! plus the weather was super cooling as well!

can you see the temperature on the board? it's 16 degrees~~~ whee!!!

The buildings behind have very unique designs as well! =)

Yay! I've been to Repulse Bay Beach~ =)

We went on to the Aberdeen.. it is actually a fishing village and it was a stark contrast from the Repulse Bay and Stanley (where all the rich gather).. We took a boat ride (charged exorbitantly, supposedly the proceeds will go to the fishermen to help sustain their living and keep the culture rich and alive =P) I still feel cheated.. haha.. but neverthelss, we were entertained with the sights along the way.. =P

Coincidentally, the famous Jumbo in HK is located here too! haha...

It was a pretty colourful ride round the fishing village.. though the air is a little polluted from the engine exhuast =P

haha.. mummy's face looks big here =P

Posing with Jumbo behind!

We ended the tour in around 30 minutes.. pretty interesting though expensive.. haha..

As usual, every tour guide will bring you to some very boring and hard-sell jewellery and herbs shops.. tsk tsk! I thought this tour guide is different, but he disappointed us... wasted 1/2 precious hours at such places.. =P of coz we didnt buy anything from those 'tourist' shops...

Instead, we 'escaped' those shops earlier than most of the others and we skipped to some roadside stalls opposite to buy foodies to munch.. HAHA! and we bought their pancake and curry fishballs.. hmm... the curry fishballs are not as fantastic as I thought it would be =P

Curry Fishballs!

And I spotted a Lambo along the way =) Wow Wow~ sexy!

We went to a restaurant for lunch and made our way to Lantau Island (with the coach of course).. This would be the last stop of our city tour... and we're so looking forward to it! We had to take a cable car up to the top.. journey took around 20mins =)

Here we go~

The view was beautiful and foggy.. haha.. coz it was pretty cold that day... =)

I like this picture.. of coz~ photographer is none other than me.. *ahem* hahaha...

It was a vvvv cooling ride.. and it got even colder as we went higher *brrr*

Finally we arrived! The whole decor of the shops and bulidings made me feel as though I'm in China.. during some kind of era (maybe Qing Dynasty).. haha.. I don't know why it was designed this way, but the weather was wonderfully cold.. The decor didnt bother me much... =P

Posing with the Tang Dynasty look-alike shop houses =)

Daddy and his handsome pose.. haha..

We were walking along the shops heading towards our final destination - The big buddha statue.. and we spotted this! haha..

Im on the left of the picture while Ah Qi is on the right... haha..

This is super funny... Love it so much! hahahha...

The weather was too cold for me to perspire after climbing so many steps.. I took this picture and I think it's pretty well taken!

Daddy, Ah Qi and I were the courageous souls as we climbed up the 200 plus steps up to meet the Great Buddha Statue.. Mummy wanted to climbed up as well, but due to sore joints, we had asked her to stay down and walk around the shophouses... Beh Beh yi, Brother and gf accompanied mummy while the 3 of us ventured up north! =)

We bade our goodbyes and headed to Victoria Harbour to catch the laser show at night... All the prominent buildings across the river were all lighted up with flashy and eye-catching laser and neon lights... It lit up the whole area immediately.. We waited for the laser + music show which starts at 8, and enjoyed it alot.. It's FOC by the way, and it's held every night at 8 =)

I was hoping for some fireworks though, but sadly there wasnt any.. haha..

We arrived at the Avenue of Stars~

Very nice night view! =)

We went in search of dinner after the laser show.. haha.. we were of course famished!

We settled dinner at this noodles store..

I had this... haha.. the fish balls (those handmade ones in grey)... haha.. were awful!!!! but their wanton is superb! gernerous serving of prawns.. haha.. there were around 3/4 in each wanton.. HAHA!

We headed back to the hotel after dinner.. while~~

Ah Qi posed with her "hubby" at the MTR station before finally heading back to our hotel.. HAHA

Stay tuned to day 3!
