Gone were the days of Specialist shopping centres, open field patches beside Orchard MRT.. There's so much hype around the new shopping malls these days! I should really bring them around and be their personal tour guide for the day! =) hahaha...
As parents, they will usually scrimp and save (for the family) when they're out shopping.. Therefore, I decided to bring them around the new big boys (Ion, 313 and Orchard Central) and give them a good lunch treat that day.. hahaha.. Don't belittle the 3 malls, it's a formidable feat to conquer all of them in an afternoon... We did that! =)
We started with Orchard ION.. I took half a day leave to meet them at ION.. hahaha... I'm surprised they didnt get lost around Orchard MRT and managed to find the right exit to the shopping mall (that was where we arranged to meet) =P
Went to a chinese restaurant for lunch.. haha.. coz I think they preferred chinese food =)
Food was nice, especially their signature plum sauce duck.. haha! *slurp*
We toured around every level in ION and of course they were amazed with the sheer size of the shopping mall.. haha.. not forgetting the confusing layout of the mall~
We left ION soon after, and walked over to 313 at Somerset for some window shopping... of coz by then my legs were almost breaking =P HAHA... they were still going on strong.. Finally, we went next door for our final stop (Orchard Central).. haha... Of course, after being bombarded by so many commercialised shops and boutiques the whole afternoon, it'll be nice to enjoy some natural scenery and fresh air amidst the concrete jungle =)
We went up to level 12 of Orchard Central (I previously went with Mr Koh, so knew of its existence).. haha.. and showed them the magnificent view from above.. haha..
Beautiful afternoon view~
Mummy and Me~ =) If you'd noticed... Mummy nv stands near the edge, coz she's afraid of heights.. haha... She's sporting enough to come all the way up to level 12.. *pat on her back* HAHA!
After the 'sightseeing'.. we settled at the good old Ya Kun and savoured some local traditonal toasts and coffee... Yummy~ An afternoon well spent, away from work and with my dearest parents... haha.. =) Do bring your folks around town~ They'll be amazed with how much things have changed now...
