Chinese New Year (Volume 23)

Today is the 4th day of the Chinese New Year and I'm still feeling the CNY mood... everywhere.. haha.. This year, I welcomed the Year of the Ox at Chinatown with my family...

We made our way to Chinatown, hoping to kop all the cheap stuff... But we were wrong.. The vendors this year don't seem to lower their prices as it drew nearer to midnight.......... funny! We didnt buy anything in the end.. But we managed to immerse ourselves in the festive mood and crowd.. It was a breezy night too.. thankfully~

CNY visiting is pretty much the same every year.... haha! the good thing is.. I'm still receiving hongbaos... woohoo~

Visited my auntie later in the evening.. Brought the kids down to Mc Donald's coz the adults needed some peace at home.. haha! They were simply too noisy at home.. disturbing the serenity of the quiet neighbourhood... =P

Lucky I had Ah Qi with me........ I can't handle 2 of the same kind.. They just cannot stop moving, shouting, laughing.. They are super super hyper... I don't even have a quarter of their energy... HAHA! Goodness... I need to train up and be on par with them... If not how I handle my kids in future.. I dare not think.. =P Time to watch Power Rangers/ Ben Ten cartoons.. These things seem to recharge them... haha...
They are still adorable when they've quieten down.. haha! Lil Jia Xin changed into her sexy cheongsam.. Too bad picture blur... =P

So sian... Roads were quiet on Chu san.. I bet almost half of the Chinese population took leave that day... Why am I at work.................... =(

But nevermind... Went to work and got hongbaos... haha! from company and married colleagues... Even the Pantry Auntie give me hong bao.. I'm so touched.. I feel bad leh, somehow~

Mr. Yen asked Auntie why she give me.. Auntie replied,"Because she is vv nice ma, guai......" HAHA! Aww..................... See, I help Auntie serve visitors/clients drinks when she is busy de k, good girl~... (I'm just trying to eat snake) hahahaha................

This was how I welcomed the Year of the Ox~ Dated a week ago.. all the way to the last day of the lunar year... haha~

A Week ago.................

Went for delicious and cheap Dim Sum at Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant.. Ordered alot of food... eat and eat non stop...

How can I not mention Chinatown!! haha....... the lil 'town' that lights up during the cny season........

Back in office..................

Blogged abt this pair of niu niu deco a few weeks ago.. haha! I left a pair at home.. and brought the other pair to office... haha~ My table looks colourful!

Went out for lunch (it's big thing.. coz we don't always lunch out... =P) Had a 'reunion' lunch at Raffles City.. Teahouse.. famous for their duck.. haha!

What a feast!

I only take pictures of the food... haha! It was followed by 4 hrs of KTV at the sleazy dynasty again.. haha! But it was super fun.. haha! Sing and sing and sing............. Even when they stopped playing the songs when time was up, we continued crooning.. haha! with 2 mics and songs from our HPs................. hahaa~ I've nv felt so budget... cheap fun~

and then it was tou hua until 3 plus am... everyone was soooo tired!! And I KO-ed imm i reached home........

Back at Home................... A day before CNY....

As i was craving for chocs, I opened the pack of chocs my parents gave me for xmas! Yummy~

Finally opened my 3rd box of small food (courtesy of Mr. Koh)........ =)

In this #03 box, I found some really cute small food related to baking.. pastries and cakes.. *smells good~*

HAha! It has choc ginger bread man... A Pig and Lion bun... A funny looking cupcake.. haha! A box to contain the pastries... and of coz............. 3 Suagus buns...

So cute!! =) As usual.... I've placed them inside my display rack... My collection is growing... woohoo~ This is such a cute and colourful hobby.................. haha!

This song is playful, cheerful, catchy and hopelessly romantic........... I have fond memories of this song.. Reminds me of my growing up years... in school, singing along whenever I hear it on radio.. If left stranded on a deserted island, with this song playing in the background, I can almost imagine myself running carelessly and aimlessly, embracing the cool breeze and warm sunshine.. This is once again, another song that 'transports' me to another world.. Escapism they call it~

I don't know about you, but the songs I love are mostly songs I grew up listening to......... I'm insanely attracted to Oldies and 90's hits... Songs I hear on radio nowadays hardly hold my attention for long.. haha~ Well......... Nostalgia......

Went off to town after work to watch red cliff part 2! =) It was pretty hot stuff coz it was the first day of release... haha.. Cathay had its tickets all sold out before I knock off... HAHA! Nvm... So we tried lido... After such a long time watching cathay movies coz of UOB discount... =P

I went watching this show without watching part 1... haha! I did some homework before hand... Studied like how all history students would.. Read and read and read... haha............ I managed to understand a lil more about the romance of 3 kingdoms before going inside the cinema.. =P

I'm quite impressed by how clever ancient military strategists were... Duno if the stories are real, but they seem to be.. haha! Courageous, witty, calm, confident... Woo~ Very charming.. I'm totally mesmerised..... by the story, the plot, the filming, last but not least.... The ACTOR~

Particularly him~ *drools* haha........................

Zhu Ge Liang is vvvv clever, vvvvv calm, vvvvv handsome, vvvvv charming....., vvvv humourous, and lives in his own world.. haha!

Went kboxing with PPG on Saturday... 5 solid hours of singing.. plus screaming... haha! I like to choose songs which are impossible to sing... I like to sing horribly... =P Nice meet up with my PPG =)

Went CNY grocery shopping with mummy and daddy on Monday night............... HAha! Where else but my dearest Sheng Siong.. hahaha~

I think everyone at SS knows me... They will smile at me when they see me... The dessert stall will know my orders straight away without asking (coz I order the same thing every week)... haha! Ask me where my mum is... the same qn everytime.. haha.. They will ask my mum where I am if they see her alone.. haha! My mum and I are equally famous in Srgn North SS de k................. =P

This is what we bought.............. This is only Part 1................. We still needa buy drinks and perishables... at a later date though... haha! I'm sooo happy.............. CNY is coming... abalone, fa cai, scallops, crabs, chicken wings, steamboat............... here I come! I so need to jog more....

Forecasted: Weight gain > Weight loss.......... This means positive NET GAIN... cham cham........

Diet can come later... I wanna go Chinatown this weekend!! =) *dong dong dong qiang*

The day my tastebuds turned adventurous...

Close friends will know that I don't eat beef... Not because of religion or allergy... Simply because I got scared by this 'perculiar' meat when I had my first bowl of yoshinoya beef bowl.. I remembered I had it with angie one day after school......... That was my first and last beef bowl.. I swear~ HAHA!

I don't like the texture of the meat, I don't like the smell of it, I don't like the colour it.. And I think eating such a cute cow is quite disturbing....

One day, during lunch... Mr Yen brought us to Purvis street for lunch =) He recommended beef kway teow... I was quite worried initially, but didnt want the rest to forgo the nice beef kway teow because of me.. =P

So, I took up the 'challenge' (It's really a challenge for me)............ Durains are still a big NO NO for me................. NOPE!!

This is what I ordered... They convinced me it's like normal pork... The rest were more adverturous, ordered organs too... EEEWW! haha~ *salute*

I had a few slices of beef... 2 beef balls... and donated the rest to my fellow colleagues.. haha~ I love the kway teow alot though.. the sauce is good too! HAHA................. *help* I've just eaten beef........... And it's the year of the ox... How how?? =P
