Happy Mothers' Day 2009

This post is dedicated to my dearest Mummy coz it's Mothers' Day! =) Mothers' Day falls on 10th May this year........

This year, I decided to do something special for her coz all mothers should be pampered on this day, shouldn't they? Not that I'm not nice to my mummy everyday, but I think we should really let our mums feel special and appreciated on this day, specially dedicated to them... Personally, I think it's cliche to say everyday is Mothers' Day if you are a good daughter/son.. How often do you say 'I Love You' to your mummy? It is never too weird/awkward to give Mummy dearest a big hug or a fat kiss.. haha!

Doing something special for mummy don't have to cost a bomb.. I like to make gifts as I feel that it's more sincere this way... I disagree with the saying that Mothers' Day have become too commercialised these days... It just gives people an extra excuse to skip it or do away with the celebration (like having a nice and simple meal together).. I hope my kids in future won't forget Mothers' Day.. haha! A simple wish, a big hug and kiss, simple meal together would be good enough... (now I'm greedy)

Anyway, back to Mothers' Day celebration... I was saying, I show my love for Mummy in my special way.. haha! I've decided to buy stalks of flowers from some supermarket the day before, and got them wrapped up nicely with fancy paper.. (it's cheaper this way)... haha! Ah qi was sighing as she saw me wrap.. It's as if my hands were my legs, and thankfully, something decent came out in the end.. haha.... Yes, a little cheapo, but I know florists will charge exorbitant prices for a small bouquet of flowers on Mothers' Day.. Money can be better spent on FOOD! hahahaha....

Presenting.. My masterpiece! I'm vvvv proud of it....... haha! Seriously.. This is my first time and I think it looks decent enough...

I placed the bouquet in the fridge before I sleep... =)

Flowers are not redundant and definitely not a waste of money (unless they are really ridiculously priced).. Haha! I really wanted to record mummy's expression when she received the small bouquet I made for her... but was too late to capture the priceless moment (but it is clearly etched in my memory).. I was so glad she loved the flowers alot! I can feel her joy when she saw the bouquet in the fridge.. In short, she was thrilled... haha.. Like a little girl...

Realized Papa Lim wasn’t very romantic (from past till now).... HAHA! That I totally understand....

So we brought Mummy to Dian Xiao Er for a nice brunch.. And guess what, I was first in line coz I stood outside the restaurant 30 minutes before it opened for business... haha~ And thankfully I did queue earlier.. God knows how long I need to starve before I can eat =P

Dian Xiao Er loves their lanterns

See what I mean? =p

A shot with mum before Daddy came.. He went to park his car while we dashed into the restaurant coz the queue was getting too long..

The food? haha... I'll let the pictures do the talking.. hahaha......... First time there, and the duck is legendary I tell ya =P
First dish: Some salted fish with veg.. it tasted a lil funny.. Sour in fact.. haha!

Then, Daddy arrived...

Second dish: Assorted braised vegetables

THE LEGEND! It's good good good good..... =)

Mongolian Pork Ribs for you............. Go on, drool.......... haha!

The fish slices... Taken when it was almost finished... haha...

What a feast! =)

The corn soup............ Sweet and healthy!

So so, every event has to have a good photographer to capture all the candid moments.. haha! So, being the more diligent one, I was in charge of taking shots of all present =)
Shocked Daddy.......

Bubbly Ah Qi........

Serious Brother... (act one~ =P) hahaha!

Demure and gentle Mummy... Mummy vv pretty that day.. haha! extra pretty....

Ahem~ Yours truly.................. =)

Surprise surprise!! Every mum in the restaurant was presented with a stalk of carnation.. How sweet~ =) Mummy was elated! hahaha...

See how clean the plates were.......... It's testament to the quality and taste of food.. I'm satisfied!

Time for silly shots again.. I love my corn.......... haha!

flirting with my corn again... hahaha.......... My fingers look like claws don't they... =P

Finally, a group shot taken by the waitress........... Nice~ But Brother looks like 'the hulk'... so fierce for what? hahaha......

Again...
Ah...... This looks better.. but wait, it's blur!!!! Argh...........

Got mummy a pressie as well….. Haha! I hope she enjoyed herself… At least I know the flowers made her day =P hee……… Of course this is not the only day to bring Mummy out for a good meal….. But I make it a point to spend Mothers’ Day with Mummy every year…………. =)
